In Hawassa, Internet is hopeless, slow and half the time not working. When going to a good hotel it is possible to have a speed that is sufficient for Skype say much, but the moment it is busy the speeds drops. Took me one minute to load this site.

With internet on my phone I reach max 10 kb / s, but most of the time it is 4 or 5 kb.

In Addis they work on 4 g, but that does not say much, Ethiopia telecom does not have the capacity to use the full band with of 4 g. Ethio telecom is absolutely the worst telecom company I ever encountered.

That is not a couple a weeks ago but two or three years. Was about a Fereng who went in a relationship with an Ethiopian girl. Her boyfriend did not like that (but stories change all the time, not sure if this really is what happened).

Lakeview Hotel is good, free WiFi and decent food. No idea if girl-friendly.

Living in Hawassa I stay away from the girls, (I only do massage), as tuddle says there are not many Fereng here and there is a lot of talking here. But I know where you can find action.

Piazza, every evening full with young people walking the streets, from 18:00 till about 21:00. A white man get a lot of looks, but don't expect girls taking the initiative.

Club street (that is how I call it), coming from the lake, at the roundabout with the monument go the first right. Many clubs here (evergreen, seven eleven, club 21), waitresses are very beautiful and as I understand sometimes available (but very bad English). Some clubs ask entrance. Friday and Saturday after 21:00. 80 percent of the visitors is male, but still good fun.

Saturday and Sunday afternoon the local youth (students) goes to the lake side to meet.

For massage go to to the parallel street at the lake, I checked most of the massage places and so far they all do extra. Sometimes you have to ask for it. Also Southstar hotel, central hotel, Haille and Lewi resort do massage. Better massage but not always extra (central hotel is exception, she does very good massage and very good extra).
