Maybe Kenya is better for someone who wants to have a 90 percent chance to score after the first dinner. But for me there are some criteria that make Addis a good destination:

Apart from pickpockets who however cause no physical harm Addis is quite safe.

The preparation of the local and international food is delicious.

There is no malaria risk.

There are many places to spend a nice day and evening in Addis. Thanks for the recommendations of swimming pools and the Stockholm Bar. Other places I liked were the Kiyab Cafe at Piassa, the terrace of the Friendshipcenter, the parc of the Ghion Hotel, and the Bardas (former Cloud9) restaurant in the Getu building to mention just a few. There are so many restaurants and pastry shops and a little smalltalk has the potential to find a nice company. Girls are a bit timid at the first approach but open up quickly.

Even if I were more into streetgirls Addis would be on my list because there are hundreds of them in the young, slim and attractive range. Drugs are not candy and uncontrolled use of antibiotics has caused many "bugs" to become resistant.

Uncontrolled use of Truvada is probably even worse. It has a risk of causing liver and kidney failure and nausea, headaches, diarrhea are reported as highly likely. In a double blind study about 1500 people with HIV partners used Truvada. In one year time "only" 13 caught HIV. I could not find the raw data of that test, but it is likely to assume that many of the people in the test also used condoms. These is not a level of risk I'd like to run.

There's plenty of research that shows its pretty close to 100% effective. (To date.) the unfortunates who caught it in the double blind test in Kenya when tested didn't have the drug in their system, showing they hadn't taken the correct dosage. The side effects are not highly likely, they're mainly associated with individuals already HIV infected. In Prep use its (so far) proven relatively effective.

I never worry for HIV even though I would suspect that the woman is HIV positive. If you always use condoms of good quality, the risk is almost zero, and the condom will not break if you use lube. The last time a condom broke for me was 10 years ago, and I fuck between 50-100 times every year.
