    I just got back

I will answer my own question now and hope it helps others. PCR Test is required for entry. Health Officials check it as soon as you get off the plane even before you reach passport control. And it must be with 96 hours to the minute. If you are 15 minute over your time, you will have an issue. You have to create an account with them to setup an appointment to take the test. Here is the link https://portal.nairobiwesthospital.com/register. They take Mpesa, credit card or cash at the cashiers cage.

Now leaving the country, since I flew Emirates, it was required to leave the country. They check it at the airport. I went to Nairobi West Hospital, had my results the same day. It is a very efficient process. Cost 5000 kes.

I had plenty of fun there, and I am heading back soon.

Not so clear is the requirement of a PCR Test when leaving Kenya. Though it is officially demanded one might swindle out without it.
Yes I corrected, for entry a PCR test less than 96 h was needed and their qrcode also.

But for leaving nothing is requested, its the destination that request things, for France as I was vaccinated nothing more was needed to leave Kenya and enter in France. But others who were going to France also but via Dubai and Swiss needed a PCR test for the step in Dubai and the one in Switzerland.

Everywhere I have looked so far it has been said that vaccines also need a test certificate.

    Dar To Nairobi UK Passport

    Hi,

Does anyone know if UK passport holders still need to self isolate (assume at hotel?) for 7 days even if flying to Kenya after a few weeks in Tanzania?

Also I read no need for a PCR test if fully vaccinated?

Yes, a negative PCR test (in printed hard copy) is required for entry. You will show this document at your departure airport during check in, then again upon arrival in Kenya.

You can also now buy an e-visa online (versus buying one on arrival) for entry to Kenya. The price is the same for both: $51 USD.
And if you are fully vaccinated there is no need for a PCR test, but you have to create your QR Code anyway with their application.

For the visa now its only the online process, you must buy it before travelling.

I spent 15 days from last 15 August to 30.

Thank you for the advice. You must be very proud of your sense of humour. I bet everyone is impressed. Wondering what's the quality of your other 2 posts. I bet they are reviews with great value for our little community here.

    Curfew and Uber

I just realise that my flight will land around 10 pm or basically at the beginning of the night curfew. Last night I checked Uber and it was working around 11 pm or at least it showed that they are cars around the airport and you can use the app. But the Bolt app said it's not possible to use it during the curfew. Can you help me with some info? Can you actually use Uber on the airport after 10 pm? Are they working? As far as I know I can use the normal taxi but I don't want to pay 4000 KES when I can pay 800. And I just don't like these taxi sharks around the airport.

Curfew tightened in the North West of Kenya

Not the best of news for those of us hoping to make a return to Kenya in the near future.

    https://www.kenyans.co.ke/news/65844...pm-13-counties

The government has imposed tighter curfew restrictions on 13 counties in the North West of the country due to increased covid infections. It was noted a few weeks ago that Kisumu was becoming a hot spot. It would seem a much larger area is now a problem.

I think that with the lack of a large, effective program to vaccinate the population this will continue to be all to common.

Ok, that's all the bad news for now.

Private villa for rent in Mombasa?

Hi all. I've been reading through the forum and appreciate all the info and reports. One thing I haven't found is information on private villa. I was hoping to avoid the hotels if possible. Air BnB? Thank you.

OK thank you for responding. I'm seeing somewhere it says 10 pm to 4 am but nonetheless I expect to arrive after 3/12/21 when it expires. Any word on if nightlife exists there even with curfew?
