I feel a bit fortunate as there is a POC with the local embassy who quickly responds to my email inquiries, and the e-visa (short) are all processed locally and not in Kenya. Unfortunately, I have been waiting over 2. 5 months for a 5 year visa and those are all processed in Kenya so sure if or when I will get that visa.

I crossed a land border today. The eCitizen site has been online since the Aug 3.
I should also explain VoA at land borders. Kenya immigration officer will refer you to a cyber shop where a familiar will create an eVisa for you for a fee. Once you pay, the cyber shop familiar will hand carry the receipt to the immigration officer and the officer will give you a visa even before the eVisa is approved. You will be instructed to print the eVisa once its approved.

Anyone knows if I could still get a visa on arrival from EU with an EU passport and if I still need a nose rape certificate (aka covid test for the unvaxxed)?
Kthx.

Seems like a good time to visit Kenya. I'm going next month, and noticed that the exchange rate for US dollars now exceeds 133, and still rising.

Posts: 321Protests Mondays and Thursdays
There have been violent protests starting Monday, March 20. I understand they will be held every Monday and Thursday. Nairobi, Eldoret, Kisumu and Kakamega are the most violent so far.

Posts: 321No Need to Leave EAC
On December 8, I asked Kenya Immigration a question that comes up often between long stay travelers in Kenya:
Q: "After my Kenya 3 month tourist visa and 1-3 month extension expire, do I need to leave the East Africa Community (EAC)?
A: "We get this question often. You must leave Kenya and apply for a new Kenya visa; you are NOT required to leave EAC. ".
In fact, I apply and print my new Kenya visa before I leave Kenya.

I flew from Bangkok to Nairobi on Kenya Airways. No yellow fever certificate was asked for on arrival in Kenya. However, on the return flight to Bangkok the yellow fever vaccine certificate was needed.
