I flew from Bangkok to Nairobi on Kenya Airways. No yellow fever certificate was asked for on arrival in Kenya. However, on the return flight to Bangkok the yellow fever vaccine certificate was needed.

Posts: 1348Global Haven QR code not requested or needed
Was leaving Tanzania on a 1 hour flight to Nairobi on the 29th of Novemeber (2022). I had the GH QR code handy if requested, along with my vaccination cert. The only reason I knew about the Global Haven website is because my travel itinerary through Kiwi.com, informed me that I needed to certify my vaccination. And complete it through the Global Haven portal. So I completed it.
At Tanzania airport, Tanzania Air had their staff pre screening passengers passports, checking vaccination status, before allowing you to get to the ticket counter. Ticket counter never asked to see a QR code, nor asked to see my vaccine card. They just concentrated on ticketing and baggage drop off. At Tanzania immigration, I had to fill out a departure card for my stay in Tanzania.
I get to Nairobi, and way before you are allowed to get to Immigration, staffers are just outside of the building asking for vaccine certs. This was a quick process that took seconds. They were not spending any time closely examining vaccine certs. I showed my vaccine card which was quickly glanced at and then I was allowed to go straight to immigration. I'm not sure if there were any individuals who volunteered to show a Global Haven QR code instead. But showing a QR code obviously wasnt required.
At immigration there were NO arrival cards required to be filled out (Like I had to do in Tanzania). I showed my 5 yr e-visa, was asked how long was I staying this trip in Kenya. Was then advised that since I have a 5 yr visa, I should go to the US embassy in Nairobi to get my passport stamped so I won't have to rely on the paper copy of my e-visa for subsequent visits.
Another thing I was happy about, is that no other vaccinations were required to enter Kenya, namely not needing a Yellow Fever certification. Entering Kenya was a very smooth process, same as it was entering Tanzania. Not having to wear masks in these countries, on their planes or within their airports was a very welcome change to what I was used to.

Posts: 478Here are Lufhansa requirements, when flying from Frankfurt to Mombasa, right now:
"Passengers:- must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival; or- must have a COVID-19 PCR test in English taken at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point; or- are subject to a COVID-19 rapid antigen test upon arrival.
Passports and other travel documents accepted for entry are considered valid until the day before the expiration date.
Passengers with flu-like symptoms must submit the Travel Health Certificate Application before departure at https://*******.com/3uszn3hk . ".
So no reason to visit any website unless you have flu, that is how I understand this. Airline companies are generally more strict of rules than immigration, in most of the cases. Because they are the ones who have to arrange flight back to the passenger somehow if he can't get through immigration. If you can get to the airplane then immigration will be solved usually.

Meanwhile I was told this might not be valid. However when I entered Nairobi Airport this month I passengers without QR were held up.

Posts: 197This is what Kenyan authorities say on their websites:
'There will be no paper verification of COVID-19 test results and vaccination certificates upon arrival into Kenya. Airlines should ensure that all travelers have uploaded both documents into global haven before boarding via www.globalhaven.org'.

The Kenya Airway website gives the GlobalHaven QR link to fill out with COVID vaccination info. I brought my vaccine books and the QR when I checked in at JFK. The clerk used my QR only to check COVID vaccines. She was not interested in my Yellow Fever vaccine book. I asked her if the COVID books would have been good enough instead of the QR. She said that she could NOT check me in with my COVID books. I must have the QR. I still keep my books handy but I've only needed the QR. I flew to and from Zimbabwe and Ethiopia via Ethiopia Airways as well but I didn't bother to ask about books vs QR.

No yellow fever needed for TZ to KE, the other way around you need it.
But there is yellow fever in parts of Kenya and it is a once in a lifetime shot.
So I would recommend to get it.

Posts: 1348Current Vaccination Protocols Yellow fever, Covid etc?
Considering that protocols and guidelines may have changed, does anyone have any boots on the ground knowledge or experience on what is CURRENTLY required to enter Kenya? I read a while back that a Yellow Fever vaccination used to be required to enter Kenya, but now the YF vaccination is only recommended. Is this true or false? I'm staying mostly in the Westland area (Nairobi), and won't be going on any safaris or wild life trips. If time and opportunity permits, I may fly to Mombasa and stay there for a few days.
Any advice or suggestions for entering Kenya will be helpful. FWIW, I am a US citizen. Prior to going to Kenya, I will be coming from Tanzania.
