I'll be returning to Nairobi for a few days in mid-September, and it will be my first time back there in ten years. I'll be on my way to (gulp) Juba where I expect to have a very dry time of it.

Do not starve while in Juba. While there ask for directions to the offices of Asante aviation, a travel company. Any lady you find in there is good material to keep you company in the late hours. Many are foreigners from neighbouring countries and starved. They never gel with the locals or fellow company employees. If you are good at it, I await a report on squirters.

Buffalo Bill's may be long gone but Annie Oakley's has risen from the ashes with the same "U" shaped bar and the same crowd. For those of you familiar with Nairobi its top of the road (I think its Milimani rd) passing Heron Court hotel on your right, at the top of the road is a T junction, cross over onto a dirt track leading to Comfort Hotel (formerly Eagle apartments) on your right, further 50yds past Backpackers is Annies.
