Posts: 349No brilliant idea yet for an inexperience traveler lost in Nairobi ?
Jim, In high tech industry its a norm to take vacations often. I am no exception.

Last night while driving back from dinner, I saw a few of street walkers at the intersections of Chiromo Lane and Muthithi Road / Westlands Road. Basically, there were a few women waiting on Chiromo Lane in the shadows between the two roads.
I remember a few years ago when there were many more... but at least there are some. There was one cutie, but she got picked up before I could get to her.
If you are in or passing through Westlands after 9pm, I reckon it is worth a stop.

2. "Klub Sound" near Simmers: Similar crowd to Choices and the dance floor is centrally located so it’s easier to pick out the fishes gyrating on the dance floor.
3. "Fridays" near the Anniversary Towers: Smallish but now crowd of older non-pros.
4. "Bananas" on Thika Road. This place is jammed packed with the United States International University (USIU) crowd on Friday and Saturdays.
5. "Tropez" in the town center: working class crowd. Very hot chics, but be prepared to buy ‘expensive’ drinks
Mmm. There are countless other such places.
Happy hunting!

Guys
Less then two weeks before my travel, (Eastern Europe first and then Kenya),i will be grateful to anyone that tries to summarize Nairobi meeting places mainly for Non-pro.
My last visit i took a taxi for the entire night and scroll the city nightspots. I must admit that i was quit disappointed although Nairobi should be more vibrant then Mombasa.
My main motivation to initially focus Nairobi is that the population here is more diverse and more students can be found. One of my initial thought was the university during daytime but i am not sure about the semester schedules.
Any ideas?

Any advice on hotel/resort near the beach at a reasonable price (2000-2500 KSH) of course with no problem for bringing girls?
Thanks

I am currently back in Kenya on a consulting assignment, and have noticed something the last few days... there are a lot of pretty young things selling Standard newspapers on Uhuru Highway in the mornings.
Given the terrible traffic, you can end up stuck in one spot for a long time - up to 45 minutes in one spot - and I suspect it wouldn't be too difficult to chat one up. Just buy a paper, chat her up, and slip her your number. I unfortunately cannot try it due to personal circumstances, but just some food for thought for you souls out there.
Also, in the Nation and Standard there are numbers of Massage places – ranging from KES500 – 1,500, plus extras [I would guestimate about KES1,000]. I guess this makes sense for a quick shot or release, although an all-nighter would be good better value for money.
Places for freebies include Havana, Gypsy, Pavement, Klubhouse, and the night club at the old casino [sorry; forgot the name]. I know these are all in Westlands, but this is near where I am staying, so all I know.
Hope it helps anyone coming out here soon.

Posts: 94Police/Freedom line in remote islands
I didn't see a name in this disco.
The important thing is the fact that mongering, though difficult, is possible in the very muslim Lamu town, thanks to the central Kenya administration.
This is a reality too in Pemba (Zanzibar archipelago, TANZANIA).
Though very quiet and islamic, you can meet with girls from the island and the mainland (and with alcohol) when you cross the police lines!
Policemen and civil servants come from very different cultural zones where sex is often a totally normal and unblamed thing, and some time a 'purification' of the soul. Far away from the religions of the Book which condemn sex relations without marriage and want sex relation for kids only not for pleasure in the marriage.
I have tested only the police bar/station in Lamu, Pemba, and Zanzibar city.
I guess it works every where in Tanzania and Kenya when you're in an ancient muslim area. If someone have informations about other islands that match this type (Kiwayuu, Pate, Mafia, Kilwa) please let's inform me!
To go back to Lamu island it's not difficult to find the disco, you have to come to the block called "LANGONI", the "BIG DOOR" in kiswahili. This the West end of Lamu town.
Here are living the poorers, the newcomers (like me ;)) or the descendant of slaves. Here you start to feel more in Africa than in an old arabic town. The women are not veiled, there are little bars which sell alcohol, sometime adultared, and you can hear some music in the "streets".
From LANGONI there are two path, one along the sea, to go to Shela village, one that climb up the woody mount. Take the second path. You will walk along a big military fence and see the radar and antenna that watch the Kenyan sky.
The disco is upper in the wood, a simplier way is to come with someone if you can bear the beach boy attitude or make a friend.
The place is known to hoste pro and non pro girls. The people of the town do not like it at all but tolerate it (I've talk with a young local DJ whose parents have forbidden him to play in this place because of the CD (changudoa) girls, he now sticks to marriage party and taarab!)
But, and I conclude here, it's sure that Lamu is not a good place for mongering.
I just give the informations for people who are obliged to go in this type of swahili island and wait for informations about the other remote islands I have not yet visited and the validity of my hypothesis of the POLICE/FREEDOM LINE in remote and muslim islands in Kenya and Tanzania.
EDITOR'S NOTE: I certainly hope that the author or somebody else will post a link to this report in the Reports of Distinction thread. Please Click Here for more information.

I don't want to stay on a sole critic, let's propose a plan of action in Lamu.
Lamu town in the Lamu archipelago enjoys a traditional swahili lifestyle.
The town in itself is a jewel of arabo-swahili ancient architecture with its houses with stages and carved doors.
The dominance of a peaceful sunni islam is obvious here and the town is very calm at night.
But you can find some action!
The town is the capital of a district of the Kenya Republic, so many civil servant and kenyan military comes from mainland Kenya to work.
A lot of them are not restricted in sex action by religious reasons and, like you, are chasing girls day and night.
The places to meet Kenyan women are hidden in the little wood between Lamu town and Shela village (for security reasons it's better to go there with locals at night). There is a little disco and the civil servant's bar who is allowed to sell beer there, at a normal price. You will meet muslim and non-muslim girls. Muslim are getting off their veils here and appears to be very beautiful girls.
You can go back to your hotel with a girl if you have ask there before.
This is a little bit indirect way of mongering but it works, and who knows, may be will you meet nice somali girls.
Good luck!

I think I'll stay at Indiana Beach Hotel, I've seen the website and seems ok
- can I bring girls in room with no extra charge only if I book a double?
All people stay before say: yes
From Indiana to Tembo is 5 minutes to the south and to casaurina 8 minutes to the north. Think so. You can't go! All with a taxi! General ist saefty in this area. But when you go in the darkness on the street for a Muzungu ist a little bit crazy. Before 10pm you can take a chaeper matatu. However you go back with a Girl a taxi is better. Last time I wait for a Taxi 4am and a matatu bring me back for a small money. Its africa, the rules change every time;.)
You can work on the day and on the Beach to cheers and big Tree. Its enough. And its possible to hire taxi just for a short ride. Different prices. I drive with John (stay in Pirates). 300-500Ksh for the quickly trips. Pay 2000 for a trip to the south one day.
TT
Forget the money be carefull and have fun!
