    ETA app experience

Installed under android from the play store. When you start the app it asks for camera rights to scan your passport and to make a selfie of you. Scan of your passport means just to hold your phone at the site from your passport with your ID data. Surprisingly this works good. Next is the selfie, this will be added to your eTA document. So maybe not too silly funny smiling when you taken your selfie. LOL. Now the usual questions will come, how long you want to stay, where you want to go and so on. Then the upload from the flight itinerary and hotel reservation is coming. You can save and leave the app and when you come back you can resume. Last but not least the payment with credit card (35 $). In my case I get a mail after two days that it's finished (eTA document as attachment).

So it was easier as I thought with the app. But as I'm not a fan of tons of apps at my phone, I will delete the app soon.

Just one example of recent Catfishing

{Not putting in 'Photo Gallery' as these are NOT trophies, heehee}.

Continuing from another discussion, I'm sharing a recent (2024) example of Catfishing I experienced on last trip.

This Kenchic has username of 'Venesa' and posted the first two pics on her profile.

Although I never met her in-person we did videochat and she sent me her real pics, the other two.

    Visa Extension

The other way is take your passport to Immigration and hope they stamp it. Don't offer a gratuity because some offices will have you arrested. If you have a 'friend of a friend', you can pass 2 k-3 k in your passport and get a stamp. If you're an idiot, you can pay 5 k and demonstrate your supreme stupidity for paying for something legally free.
I know of someone who paid 7000 KES. If you know someone who knows someone who knows someone. The tariff on coast if you don't want to do it yourself in Mombasa. Is 1000 KES per month. If you pay more than 3000 KES you're being taken for a ride.

    eTA

I submitted an eTA on Sunday afternoon and it was in my email box approved Tuesday morning. The website was simpler and the total cost was less than $35. It took my credit card without issue. Just like the eVISA site, I still needed to creat an airline itinerary and hotel reservations for the first few days upon arrival. It's a visa by a different name.

Thats good information about being able to web chat, OT.
Has anyone tried to get a free extension online yet? I'm sure you still use the eFNS site (when it's working).

It was 50 plus some service charge of a dollar plus a credit card fee to make a total of $55.

There's a trick. You can still apply for eVisa. Via eCitizen. The eVisa site is shut down for good. Furthermore eTA. 27. December. Of course it's Kenyan time. LOL.

I may be in a fix for my flight. I think I may just get a cheap onward ticket from Nairobi to show to the airline checkin to avoid offloading.
