I read the article as well, very disturbing. The Malawi president has actually issued out an order that this man (hyena) should be arrested.

That's where the President misses the point. Simply arresting this man will not change much. Many more "hyenas" will arise to fill the post. It is the culture which should change. That requires a more elaborate process involving village elders and it is them who have the power to stop these things. The President instead should arrange a meeting with them and respectfully urge them to really reconsider some of their cultural practices.

OK, so no one responded but as I promised a report, here is a brief report.

I ended up only going to Lilongwe for one night. On a Sunday evening (I. E. Last night). Without expecting much, I headed out into town around 8 pm. As expected, most of the bars and clubs were empty. Chez Ntemba had one guest.

But in Bwandilo (Area 47, right by Chez Ntemba), right by the gas station where a lot of people go for some quick FS and BJ in their cars, are some bars. One of them was hopping despite it being 8 pm on a Sunday evening. There were a number of hot girls. I picked up one of them. Her name was Angela. For a number of reasons I wasn't up for FS and actually went for an HJ. Anyway, there was a place called China House (or something similar) right behind the bar where you can pay 1,500 MK (about 3 USD at the current exchange rate) to rent a room for half an hour. The cost of the half hour for the girl was 5,000 MK, which was probably too much as she accepted immediately.

Planning another trip again soon so will report back.

I'll be in Lilongwe (first time) for work in a couple of weeks, staying at the Ufulu Gardens hotel in Area 43. I gather from reading through the old posts here that Malawi is generally easy, and I'm used to finding girls in other African countries, so I'm hopeful I'll do OK.

I will be a bit constrained by work colleagues though, so I'd be interested if anyone here has more specific information about the hotel (am I likely to find girls in hotel bars, for instance) and nearby clubs or other locations that might be good to visit.

Apart from that, any other tips or observations on the scene in Lilongwe at the moment?

On a trip through southern Africa me and some mates camped in Malawi for a few nights next to the Lake.

The second day a local family of some means and mixed blood moved in right next to us. Although the campsite is quite large, African people do not share the same need for personal space, and basically camped on our doorstep! Good report. How did you search facebook by city and a girl?

Just look for any facebook page with Lilongwe in it and search the ladies that have liked that page I. E. Lilongwe? Sex life in Lilongwe, Lilongwe hook ups etc. Once you have selected those you like, send them a message that you will be in Lilongwe and you would like to meet them for a drink and get to know each other. I have learnt a trick, never send a generalized message. Be specific by mentioning the name of the girl you are writing to. And avoid sending the same type of message to many people at once. Facebook will block you.

On average, I paid between 8000 to 15000 MWK for a full night. I did not do any ST. AS for the student, it was just drinks, nice dinner or even just a pizza and it was all done.
