Regency Hotel in Mikocheni is on Old Bagamoyo Road. If coming from Shoppers Plaza going out of town, it is on the right. You can't miss it, a eight story place on the right hand side. Thanks to the forum posters, I have a much better feel for what to expect in DAR or elsewhere in TZ. For newbies, before you ask someone for specific lodging or meetup spots, try going back about 2 years (20 pages) and reading forward from there. You will very likely get the gist of some good places to stay, where to meet the type of women you are looking for, and how much to gift your temporary companion. Then round out your research by using your choice of travel planning websites or apps like TripAdvisor, Kayak, Skyscanner, Hopper. Then Google or Bing the place you want to visit to obtain maps and suggestions of other things to do besides our hobby. Of course, you can also just use Google Earth to get birds eye view of the area.

To my observation, business on the peninsula is kicking less those weeks due to most expats having left for annual leave, and Ramadan slowing everything down. Dar is not the tourist place. I did not check the more local areas recently myself.

I would like to recommend some massage parlors. In particular Pentagon and Full Moon have some really stunning girls and some are quite open minded. On the downside the premises of Full Moon are a bit scroungy and very dark. Most other parlors have girls that look terrible and give lousy service in a not very nice surrounding.

With regard to the clubs, I'm afraid to have to tentatively disagree with my experienced colleagues earlier in the thread. I only tried the clubs during a couple of days, but it seems Tanzania's new president really has clamped down on this type of open prostitution (6 months in jail for those who can't afford to contribute to the "Police Pension Fund") I'm told that areas like Sinza and Kinondoni (the bar strip) have gone deep underground. Only the expat heavy Msasani area (where this thread in any case mostly is "based") is still somewhat working, although at much lower intensity. For the Kinondoni bar strip I could confirm this myself yesterday; very few girls and a heavy police presence (mostly in civilian clothes).

Those girls that are left in Msasani are few and not that stunning or good at what they do. The same limited set move with the curfew so that they start out in bars like at Coco Beach and Q Bar and after they close they move to bars with extended hours like High Spirit, Elements, Maisha and Wantanshi. The three first on the late list are tricky in the sense that there you have youngsters out for a good time also mingling, so at least I had problems knowing who / how to approach. On the other hand I do think a lot of girls are open for proposals if you do it right (besides my own flirting, others in this thread seem to have had some good experiences of semi-freebies).

Regardless if you go with the declared professionals or the semi-freebies, I would dare to say that service is amateurish.
