Gambia. Honestly I wouldn't bother. Despite the raving reports. The scene is super small.

I'd echo Neddy's comments on Gambia. I'm enjoying myself so far but the scene is tiny and I'm always fending off the same pros out and about. And finding it not hugely easy to 'cut out' girls I spot around town. I decided on Gambia purely for the ease of getting to and from here (compared to Kenya and Tanzania.).

I'm here to live cheaply for a while and monger on the side, rather than it being my main reason for being here.

Returned two weeks ago and there was no mask mandates for visitors in hotels or clubs. Comically, I did receive a text from Uber 2 days after my return home that there had been a complaint lodged I was not wearing a mask during one of my uber rides. Some of the drivers were wearing mask but I did not take them seriously.

My only trips were post covid and I can only imagine rates are stagnated or lower. Note I used Tinder a lot last go and of about 20 convos I had, I met about 10 of them and three had agreed to come to my hotel for short term at 100,000 tsh (about $43). Most wanted more, some considerably more and previously quoted amounts of 80-100 usd sounds right though you can undoubtedly find cheaper. See other's comments below.

My preference would have been to go to Mombasa but air tickets were significantly more than RT airfare to Dar, coming from USA. If / when I return to east Africa it will probably be to NBO as airfare rates has been significantly lower than even Dar of late.

What Corona situation? Doesn't exist in Dar. Wear mask as you please. Wash your hand with soap. Done. All open. No curfew. Nobody gives a rats ass if you're vaccinated or not. They started to vaccine health care workers and some high risk groups. To enter you need a valid RT PCR test. To depart the same.

Kenya. You have to be in bed by 10 pm with your chica. Other than that swinging. Take care of everything which wears uniform. They're all on the take if you're not wearing a mask in public.

If your Kiswahili is non existing I'd choose Kenya anytime.

Have used Tagged previously, but that was some years ago. Tagged, OKCupid, Tinder, Afrointroductions, or other? What do you recommend? I just hit the big five zero. So wondering if some apps are better for this age group? Thanks in advance.

You get a decent unfurnished apartment from 150 $. 2 BR unfurnished house in Oyster bay 400 $. a month. Never rent furnished in Africa. Way too expensive. Very easy and cheap buy simple furniture. And forget AirBnB. Only for overpaying clueless tourists.

The limiting factor might be Visa. There's conflicting information. Some say you can extend the 3 months VOA for another 3 months. I'll check out immigration later. 6 months are ok. Then go on holiday to Mada every 6 months.

It is good advice but not everyone can stay in Africa for months and months, those who do it for only 2 months may find it convenient not to buy all the furniture. They may also be cheap but.
