Can't say anything about Zanzibar. But the beaches in Dar are really not so safe. I was there in Sept 2021. Had two issues on the beach.

First one here: 649'05.8"S 3919'13.8"E. Three guys came to me. Told me there is a military base here, I am arrested and I need to go with them. Actually, it would not be a problem for me. But the thing is, it was still a simple beach. And only one of the guys had a khaki t-shirt. And they didn't look like soldiers at all. At first, I was trying to talk to them nicely. But after I heard a question whether I want to see my own blood, I told, OK guys, I call police, and they should decide who of us should be arrested. I started to dial any number, although I didn't know what number I need. When I looked around the guys were already quickly walking away from me. As far as I understand I had Luck that the beach was full of people. And the guys wanted to take me away from the beach. Now about the police. I didn't want to leave it like this. And went to the next police station. So I need to give respect to local police. 20 min later I was there with 4 guys with AK-47. They refused to go exactly to that place. Because it was the border of the military base. And they were in civil clothes and with assault rifles. But in each case they tried to help me..

You did well. Some impostors trying to scare you in handing over money. Frequent in Africa.

2nd case.

You were lucky. That could have ended very bad for you. Just let go of that junk and run. Why resist for a worthless back pack. If the second guy hits you with a panga you're facing critical injury or death. Never walk on a deserted beach. Even in daytime. I always stay in guarded beach clubs or hotels let you in for a fee to use their swimming pool. In Mbezi beach that is.

Had a horrific experience in Paje in Zanzibar last night.

Like an idiot went with girl outside on the beach, got interrupted by so called police demanded money and then raped the girl who was screaming, others gathered but no one would intervene. Tried to stop it multiple times and get help but nothing just got told to leave or be arrested.

Feel truly awful and guilty has anyone ever encountered anything like that before?

Second case here: 639'38.4"S 3913'01.2"E. This time I was not so lucky. I was alone on the beach. I was simply walking there. Ten min before what had happened to me I saw a white family not so far from that place. A man, a wife and two small kids. So I saw two guys are coming straight to me. 10 m to me the guys pulled their t-shirts up and took something like machetes out. It was something self-made. Looked like a short sword. I had critical situations also before. You never think in such situations with your mind. It is only instincts. I had a pepper spray and started to spray on the first guy in 2 m distance. The wind was strong. So I could really hit him only when he was immediately on me. He managed to grab my t-shirt. But he was already almost blind. He tried to hit me with the knife. But I was moving all the time. And he hit only the air. Finally, I turned my back to him and tried to run away. But he grabbed my backpack. Do you remember the scene from "Avatar" movie, where the guy springs out of his backpack? I did the same. And started to run as fast as I can. As I was running, I shortly turned my heard to see what is happening behind. The second guy was running after me. It was a very nice view: a guy with a sword running behind me. But I was without anything and without shoes. And the guy was in his shoes and with a sword. Some 200 m later he dropped off. And run back to his partner. The first guy couldn't walk himself. Was trying to clean his eyes. The second guy helped him to run to the Bush. They didn't forget to grab my backpack. The backpack itself was the most expensive thing they got. There were only my old shoes inside and sanitizer. So I kept running till I reached this place: 639'14.5"S 3912'43.8"E. There was some security personal there. I run to him and explained the situation. He went immediately to telephone to call, as far as I understand local security boss. As I was waiting on that guy as I saw one of the thugs walking on the beach in the same direction where I run before. I don't know why. I didn't remember the faces of the thugs. But it was the same clothes, same age, same height. And as he saw me and saw that I am calling the security guy, he dropped something in the water. And as I was fighting with them there and as I was running back, the beach was empty. In each case it was one of the thugs. I called the security guy and we run together to the thug. I was pretty pissed and was keeping pepper spray at thug's face all the time. We took him to some building and called police. Local security chef also came. He told me it is a usual story. On weekend the thugs even make big operations. A dozen of them surrounds big groups of people. So that nobody can escape. And take everything they want. He was even pissed a little bit, that the first one who dared to resist and survived after it was a muzungu. The police was not so nice this time. The first guys who came, I had to pay the taxi for them and 20000 shilling each (all my valuables were in my pockets). After I came back to Europe they called me one time to tell about the case. But after it they stopped to answer my calls.

Please remove your blinders and look at the bigger picture from which these prices were quoted. Prices were never discussed beforehand with any of these women because they are not p4 p. You forgot to consider I'm strictly dating regular everyday young women. I have no clue what a p4 p cost in Tanzania. But I know what the average daily wage is for my women! I also know what their social background is. I spend time to understand the culture to study the society and know it's taboos, interests limits. Etc If you think these women are a $9 hoes then you'll be disappointed. Think of the regular decent who wants to experience with a foreigner but not be used. Just read what Neddy69 responded about this matter.

I just put the word out that I'm looking for a furnished apartment for a month or two. I told just about everyone around me: hotel reception, airport taxi driver, pikipiki driver, I guy I befriended in a restaurant I frequented. I learned the prices are between 450 k to 600 k / month. Not all need a 5 months commitment. Just put the word out and be sociable with everyone because you never know what the guy sitting next to you in a coffee shop can facilitate for you!

True. Good tactics. Always ask the locals. My big dilemma. I like to pay monthly. In Dar I used quite cheap guest houses for like 10 $ a day. But DAR is a town I am forced to cook myself. Uganda or Rwanda is much better for street food.

In Swahili the verb "to like" doesn't exist so google translate translates it into "to LOVE"! So I had asked her if she loves me and that made her understandably uncomfortable. Hahaha. To make a long story short, we realized the "lost in translation" error and reconciled with a nice warm long embrace in the middle of the sidewalk around 21:30 and now she is texting me about how it's been a long time since she had her needs fulfilled and she doesn't like that. Who knows how this will evolve but I got many options I feel like I have zero pressure.

I'm not going to bore you with my adventures just know that if you want regular women with clean KUMA who want pleasure but not openly so, and have patience to get her to confine in you and you have time 2 wks minimum for experts or 3 wks minimum for novices (not recommend for 1st timers) then Arusha is amazing.

In conclusion, Arusha has plenty of frustrated 20-26 yrs old. Why? Because it's a conservative society and girls want and are expected to get married quickly. Until there is a foreigner of course who satisfies her and can keep her secret encounters with him safely and not expose her. If you didn't get it then forget it. Stay in Thailand. LOL.

I think this is my final report. So Unless something I deem beneficial comes to mind or new developments arise I will continue to enjoy my Arusha without further reporting.

Just returned from Dar after 14 days. Stayed at.

Rungwe Hotel (King the before) in Sinza. And paid 60 k night with breakfast.

A lot has changed since my last trip in 2020. Ambience / Corner bar is gone. But girls are around there. I shagged many girls for 20-40 000St / LT. Collected numbers from civilians at milimani mall and streets.

You're an African. Nice report. How much are you paying for an apartment? I found it quite cumbersome in Dar. They only want to rent 6 months in advance and furnished apartments are way too expensive. I'm not even talking about Airbnb which is prohibitive. I found renting much easier in Kenya Uganda and Rwanda. I can get a big unfurnished house on lake Kivu for 100 $ a month.
