I've been here for a while now and I have tried to hit up each place just once to get a feel for them all, hah, pun intended.

My rankings below from best to worst and why:

1) Mariam's Massage in Mikocheni, off the main road (follow the signs). Lots of nice girls there, one about an 8 to a 9, tall girl, named I think Happiness or something silly like that, does BBBJ & cum in mouth for 50, 000 Tsh. She wanted me to fuck her too but I don't fuck these girls, too risky. Great body. Massage was average.

2) Lisa's Healing Hands. Near the US Embassy, on the Old Bagamoyo Road, left just before you get to Shoppers plaza, follow the signs. One girl there named Bianca was a fuckin stunner. 9, at least, skinny with big tits, perfect, and good looking. A bit expensive for a BBBJ, like 60, 000. 3.) Jasis Anti-Stress Clinic also in Masaki, just off of Chole Road, follow the signs. The plase is trying for the upscale market, as in no extras, but if you ask, and are quite, they'll do it, HJ for 25, 000, never asked for a BJ. A couple of big, but good looking women there, with huge boobs. Massage was average.

4) Anita's Massage in Mikocheni also, along the way further to the beaches on Old Bagamoyo Road. Pretty bad really. Dingy, but cheap xtras, everything under the sun they offer it seems, but average girls. Place is a hole in the wall.

5) Harris Massage, in Masaki, near Mary Brown's. Two girls there, only one seemed like she was "working". Very cheap. 20, 000 Tsh for a HJ, a good one, and 25, 000 for the massage. But the place is a bit dingy and there are like kids living there, kind of disturbing. Very good massage though by local standards.

6) Two places I went into and they just grossed me out, as in, too dingy, girls look like they are from the Holocaust or have AIDS, nothing attractive there: Magic Hands (referred to earlier) and the Wellness Center, also on Old Bagamoyo Road.

Oh wait, one more place. At Ubungo in the Blue Palms Hotel, top floor. Very pretty girl, average massage, but was 45, 000 Tsh for the massage and HJ. Nice place, clean.

I've never went to the high end places as they are too expensive, and the girls there don't look all that and I'm not sure about extras, as in, Movenpick, Spa at Sea Cliff, New Africa Hotel, etc, a few other places, where a massage, probably a real one, cost about 80, 000 Tsh to 150, 000, or 60. $100 USDs. Too much.

Other notes. These places primary cliental is local Indians who have a black fetish. They are quick, like in and out in 15 minutes.

Most of the places. All of the above, make sure you choose the girl you want, you are the customer, and then in the room, no need to wait to hope for something to happen, you can talk about "extras" right up front, before you even disrobe. Negotiate a good price, you can normally get them down to half of their requested amount.

Frankly I'm done with the scene now, I thought it was cool at first, but now it's just sort of gross and the massages are bad.

I have been to Mombasa but not to Dar es Salaam yet.

How would you compare both places in terms of safety? From what I saw, the Mombasa / Banburi area is pretty safe, I walked everywhere day and night with no issues, just taking the usual precautions. There are cities that are more dangerous, like Nairobi.

How is the safety level in Dar es Salaam?

I felt really safe in Dar. I did a bit of walking in the city center at night and there are security guards outside pretty much every store so it is not empty even when it is late at night.

I always took taxis to and from the late night venues since they are so far from the hotel I was staying at, plus you need to go through poorly lit areas when going between them.

So in short, I think that both places are pretty safe, but do take the normal precautions.

Posted this in the Kenya thread and thought that it would be a useful post here as well in the Tanzania thread.

A post that I would have found useful when I was planning my initial travels to Africa would have been a compare and contrast of Kenya / Tanzania. This is based on my initial impressions of both destinations, and would be interested in the reaction of experienced senior members to this. It's written to be of use to someone that has been to one of these two destinations, or neither of these destinations and trying to decide where to head to. Probably of no use to mongerers that have been to both destinations. (This doesn't really compare the two countries, but rather compares Dar es Salaam and Mombasa.)

So, IMHO. :

Overall:

I would say that Mombasa, or rather Bamburi, is a full on mongering destination with loads of girls available at places that are easy to get to. Bamburi is a bit spread out, but you can go everywhere easily and pretty cheaply by taxi and matatu.

Dar es Salaam is a big city with lots of mongering potential, but I would not describe it as a mongering destination, I. E. I would not get on an airplane to go to Dar just to monger. That being said, there are loads of non-mongering things to do around Dar like going on safari, Zanzibar, etc that are nice. (Likewise for Mombasa / Bamburi.)

Bamburi is a nice beach side holiday destination, while Dar is a big city. You can get to a nice beach pretty easily in Dar, but need to take a taxi.

Neither destination really has an organised mongering scene (at least not for tourists) and are 95% freelancers I would say. Don't know if the massage girls count as being organised mongering. In Dar they tended to be in massage parlours while in Mombasa / Bamburi they are along the beach working in little groups.

Looks of the girls:

Both places have hot girls, loads of tribes means that there is also loads of variety (within the black girl category) so there are girls that are tall and short, fat and slim, big tits and small tits, very dark skin and very light skin available in both places. Maybe a slight edge for the Tanzanian girls in this category.

Anal sex:

Tanzanian girls are much more likely to give up their behinds than the Kenyan girls from what I experienced.

Oral sex:

Kenyan girls seem much more happy to blow away than Tanzanian girls. Both sets of girls do BBBJ as standard.

Cum in mouth / cum on face:

Kenyan girls seem to have no problem with having cum on their faces, in their mouths, on their tits. The Tanzanian girls seemed a lot more reluctant to do this.

Fucking:

Both Tanzanian girls and Kenyan girls fuck really well, not as good as Jamaican girls do, but it is rare to have a star fish experience.

Non-pros:

Kenyan girls seem happy to pose for pictures and be in movies, while the Tanzanian girls were much more reluctant.

Day time action:

Both places have massage girls for day time action, but best bet is to gather phone numbers on your evenings out and then call girls that you want to meet or that you want to repeat with. Day time action is better in Mombasa since there you can always head to Big Tree or find a massage girl along the beach. In Dar you need to taxi it over all the way to the US embassy where there are a number of massage parlours but that is a bit of a journey.

Week day evening action:

Pretty tame in both destinations. Always something going on in Q-bar in Dar, and a few girls hanging around at Casaurina and Cheers in Bamburi, but not that much fun to be honest.

Weekend night time action:

Great in both destinations! It really pics up on the weekend, but Mombasa has a much much bigger selection of girls than Dar does.

Getting around:

Much easier in Mombasa / Bamburi than in Dar. Dar is a big city so you have to deal with loads of traffic. Suppose it's the same in Mombasa proper, but if you aren't there for that long then you don't really need to go into Mombasa proper.

Prices:

Very similar between both destinations, I. E. Very very cheap.

This is a somewhat late report. About a year ago I went to Tanzania, where upon arrival I was met by an old friend (a former guide), his wife and his sister at the airport.
