Not that I am one to talk .. I passed through Dar briefly recently, didn't have the time or strength to go to the clubds for mongering - limited the search to the hotel bar & casino - which had nothing to offer at all .

Hope for something to report next time!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! for not giving in and giving that girl more than 20,000 shillings (about U.S. $19). Even that is about the maximum amount for a full night of hot fun with MSOG (multiple shots on goal).

Occasionally I run across girls in Tanzania (and elsewhere in Africa) who want an outrageous sum of money, although $300 is the largest amount I've ever heard of for an opening figure. Usually they back off quickly and go down to a more reasonable amount.

I guess the girls figure that it doesn't hurt to try to ask for an outrageous amount if they're having sex with a foreigner, hoping that (a) they'll find a sucker/fool or (b) that the guy will negotiate down to $100 and think he's getting a bargain since the rate in the U.S. or U.K. would be more than that. Remember, some white guy on a World Bank expense account would probably not even blink at paying $100.

You are also correct in pointing out that a well-educated civil servant makes $100 a month salary.

in Zanzibar you can find girls at the Bwawani Disco and at the bar across from the Tembo Hotel. Be careful as many hotels are NOT girl-friendly (the Bwawani doesn't care). I've stayed at the Shangani Hotel a couple of times - great location but no girls allowed in your room, even at 10 a.m.! Once I ended up picking up a girl at the bar across from the Tembo and taking a taxi with her back to her place, which was a shack in a crowded neighborhood. Did the deed but felt a bit nervous the whole time.

Went on saturday to Pub Albierto, a centrally located nightclub. The supply of girls was OK but nothing special, got a nicelooking 19 y o who followed me to my hotel.

No problem with bringing her in to my hotel (Buffalo) and we spend about an hour together. After the session she wanted to have the sum of 300 USD. The monthly salary for a professional Doctor working at a hospital is around 100 USD so I said of course no. After a while I agreed to pay 20000 TSH (around 20 USD) which was quite expensive for this service in Tanzania. One can guess that the rich supply of muzungos in Moshi has made woman ask for silly amounts like the girl did to me.

Zanzibar is a very nice spot for beaches and culture, if anyone likes that, but not good for sex.

If you have a nice GF from Kenya or mainland TZ it can be nice to take her there.

If you really need a beach Mombasa has nice ones as well....
If you are there theres a few places however, girls are not anywhere as good looking as in dar es salaam but anyway.

Muslim culture is strong so its a lot more tricky with hotels etc, but if you go anyway the places to pick girls in Stone town are Bwawani disco on fridays, quite good actually, Garage club on certain nights, and for the dodgier drunken girls not good looking go to happy bar.

Of the beach areas you might find a few at Nungwi but were talking 2-5 girls, not like dar where you can choose in the hundreds.

I mignt go to Zanzibar in Agust/Sptember 2004. Has really nobody been there? I need information.

I meant Q bar and not anything else (G bar I wrote).

In the classy hotels youll find pretty girls but demanding ten times as much as they would in a disco.

Renovating at the moment but otherwise a decent bar is Palm beach hotel.

Kimicho bar in namanga ten minutes out of town is ok, same area has local disco Studi baker which is very warm but lots of students but only busy weekends.

A very nice bar for an afternoon drink and perhaps a hunting ground as well is Coco beach, on oysterbay beach.

Dar has a lot of bars and what is in and out changes in a month but California and Jolly Club around Las vegas casino is a place with more than enough girls for everyone.

Try out a local bar somewhere, youll be surprised how nice and cheap and fun easy it is.

Dar is a relatively safe area in that aspect, ive been the only european many many times and never encountered any problems, not like the caribbean in that aspect.

I appreciate the details in your report, but I know from experience that a lot of people find it easier to read a report if the paragraphs are separated by a single blank line.

I know how this happens: You're banging away at the keyboard, putting your thoughts into the report as fast as you can write them. However, if you could hit the return key TWICE at the end of each paragraph, your report would be much easier to read, which would certainly be appreciated by your fellow Forum Members.

Dar es Salaam has got plenty plenty girls. some pick up places are California Dreamer, starts around 01 every day, very busy fri and sat. Outside is Jolly Club, full of girls even outside the bar.

Bilicanas disco is nice but less pros than the CD, however some amazing girls for those who might look for a real GF. G bar is a bar frequented by lots of pros.

Once you get to know Dar youll find hundreds of little bars and restaurants where you can pick up girls. There is no end to it.

i was in tanzania on business and there are plenty of attractive women to be had. california dreamers yielded two and q bar the other one. two of tthe three was seen on more than one ocassion. they were young and enthusiastic, one claimed she was 19 but because she could not say the birth year with sufficent speed i did not believe her. she was maybe about 24 like the others.i never donated more than 40,000 shillings, about 40$. these were all overnight arrangements. good luck and wera your raincoats.

The only problem in Q bar is Friday: very loud. Get a room facing the back of the hotel.

For hookers any color and kind go to Jolly Bar < midnight and to California Dreams (just beside the casion) > midnight. You will not regret it.

No street action exept close and in front of Q Bar.

You can stay in Q bar (Swedish run, clean and about 60 USD) and can take the girls up for no surcharge. Th, Fri and Sat are great nights until early morning in Q bar. Lots of nice girls.
