H20 was lively Friday night, but on the young side and doesn't seem like a good semi pro option. Cafessierre food is overpriced and the staff is cold there.

Got the MTN SIM and small data for 12 k shillings, but almost out and I've been using wifi whenever I can. Ubers are more expensive here especially if going somewhere expensive or to / from the mall. I've bit the bullet and rode boda a few times but never late at night.

My Airbnb sucks on so many levels and it's down a dirt road with a dirt parking lot. No clean shoes in this city. I'm switching to somewhere else and more expensive this week. Nairobi has more quality options at good prices.

Get a Revolut. I only use Revolut. Important. Use only a VISA Revolut card. Before I was ripped off by my bank and Visa Credit Card including shit Exchange rate In lost up to 30! Avoid no name ATMs like the plague. They're rip off. I had to reverse charge.

I use only Diamond Trust, Equity ATMs. Standard are ok. But they charge too. Only in case of emergency. MASH. Well. All are crap more or less. I use Modern. But delays can happen. I don't use long haul. I broke my journey. Nairobi to Kisumu. Then I took MODERN from Kisumu to Entebbe. Border. Was not a real problem. There's a one stop border shop. I didn't even have to offload luggage for inspection.

Get used to your plans thrown off. That's Africa. You can find yourself thrown in jail for no reason. Or the bus falls off a cliff. Then you're plain and simple dead. Enjoy sweet Kampala pussy. The diversity is hard to beat.

I went to the rip-off to the far left on the three on the ground floor. The rate was trash. $10 difference for only 500 k ugx and I know my bank it going to hit me with fees and another exchange rate hit. Going to wind up with an almost 30% loss. Makes me not want to even monger in this shithole. I'm already over it.

I booked a decent place here on airbnb for after Christmas into January: Kololo Hill Drive, Kampala, Central Region, Uganda.

Hilltop universal residency

The host told me guests are fine. 10-15 minute walk to Arcadia mall. I couldn't find anything better closer to the mall. Hoping the location isn't too much a hinderance.

Ran about 75 a night plus fees. If anyone has thoughts on location let me know.

I will be in Kampala around same time. Would you want to link up for some night out and chick hunting?

Most probably people will be polite because they get the rent. What they really think or talk among themselves I don't know.

First Timer read the posts by PorkJoint and Incrociatore long after Covid had started. Daytime rely on dating sites otherwise it is a question of luck. For Airbnb Kololo Nakasero or Entebbe can be the choice.
