Recently stayed at the jbk hotel. Really good location in central Kampala and nearby to Rock Garden.

Had very early morning starts, so didn't get a chance to try any ladies but I'm pretty sure the hotel is girl-friendly as indicated in earlier reports.

Bugolobi is fine and a decent place for a first time stay. Residential (ish) but handy to central Kampala and the club scene in and around the industrial area.

For accommodation you could try Primrose Suites or the Silver Springs hotel. Both have a websites I believe. Visited, but never stayed at either.

Bars in the area include the Bamboo Nest, Buzz Bar, GattoMatto, Jazz Ville, Olive Garden. The first and last I know do good food too. Ashiana used to be a good Indian food place. Also used to be a good Pizza place behind the Shell station in Bugolobi. Coffee shops are sprouting up all around.

So in a nutshell, you won't be starved of sex, food or beer. Enjoy.

that was a fascinating and helpful report for someone heading to uganda for the first time soon. i shall be working in bugolobi and was wondering is there is anywhere appropriate to stay, eat or drink there? if not can i count on getting around by taxi safely and reasonably speedily?

i recently joined as a member after several months of lurking. time to make a small contribution. i have lived and worked in africa most of my professional life over the last 35 years. many of the places i know well may have changed in the last couple of years and will therefore talk about my recent experiences in uganda, where i have traveled frequently to over the last year for work and on a separate thread ethiopia which is and has been home for some 15 years.

i, like several other mongers here tend not to frequent the night clubs as i manage to catch what i am loooking for during the day or ealy evening. however the clubs of note are cayenne, silk, governors and the bar / restaurant / disco of steak out, with two locations in kampala.

i will provide some indicators to where i think the better places are for mongering. most ugandan girls are friendly and approachable and really it is up to you how you talk to them to get a smile, a laugh and an agrred date. that can be done in a few minutes or for a later appointment. obviously being a musungu helps as to being considered less of a risk and usually with funds. note, i do not pay over the odds, but a fair price for services offered. that can be from ugs 20, 000 (us$ 8) , for a quickie in the day up to a full on session all night (ugs 60 to 80 k or, us$ 20 to 30)...

I have to be in Kampala (first visit) later this month and will be working in an office in Bugolobi, which I understand is a residential area. There are a couple of suites resorts nearby (Royal Suites, Dolphin Suites) but they are expensive and family type resorts. Can anyone suggest anywhere suitable, GF nearby?

How to identify which ones are there more for fun? If the answer is just to message all of them and then to sort through it, it seems like more work than it is worth. Are there particular things to look for in identifying potential targets?

Send tactfully discrete but fairly direct solicitation indicating you are a sensitive, compassionate, generous guy who will be on a tight timeline (for all that work I'm certain you will be scheduled for!) , but would love to meet for some adult companionship and perhaps even exploration of future prospects bla bla bla. Invite them / her to your hotel for a beverage to meet (in my case, I front end an offer to provide a shopping gratuity etc for pleasant companionship) and if she engages my bet is significant majority will obligingly remove panties.

I have had some luck picking people up outside of clubs. In particular, I have had some luck chatting ladies in the street or in taxis (mutatus). This is not a high yielding practice but when it works, you generally get good non-pro quality. In general, girls around university age or a little older are often willing to strike up conversations. My luck has primarily been in the MUK area.

I look a little at Afro to see if it could help to diversify the search. All the ladies are looking for serious relationships etc. How to identify which ones are there more for fun? I agree. Afro offers a wide variety of talent in Uganda. Just be mindful that some ladies may indicate living in Kampala when actually living in Entebbe, Jinja or Mbale so you will want to verify that since it would take 45 minutes to an hour just for her to transit from Entebbe to Kampala and even longer if she is coming from Jinja. I never traveled to those places just to meet one chick since if she turned out to be less than appealing then I would have wasted time, and lost time equals lost opportunity. Why this is important is on several occasions I set up what I thought would be successive meetings 3 hours apart only for the earlier girl to end up coming from farther afield than her profile location indicated, and I had them arriving before I was finished with the latter one that arrived a bit early. Once had 2 girls arrive within 10 minutes of each other, and thanks to the Puritan rules at Kenrock, I ended up chatting with both of them in the lobby.

Just remember that a varied diet is a healthy diet. Don't try to fill your quiver with only Afrointroductions contacts. I used that mostly to form a foundation but I also scored big with an attractive lady I approached on the street in the daytime. I also include one club pickup each time I visit. I just have never picked up any SWs. Note on the street pickups. I have visited Uganda four (4) separate occasions and it was not until my third visit that I successfully scored with that daytime street pickup. I had been rejected the few times I had done so prior to that time, and that rejection also includes my many attempts in Nairobi. Rejection is nothing more than a "no right now. But if I had never tried, I would not have scored that model pickup...
