I had booked travel here before the lockdown so was committed. On arrival depending on what country you arrived from and if you are not vaccinated, you are shuttled off to a nearby hotel and charged $65 for a covid test. Luckily the test only took an hour for me but could be up to 4. Airport taxis are running and will operate on set rates, they are waiting at the hotel.
Arrival in Kampala. Went through 3 checkpoints in the city checking drivers permits to travel. In the CBD a lot of vendors disobeying the lockdown, but have lookouts so just hide and come back when the police come round. Uber and the other apps are not operating for people transport same with bodas and no minibusses operating.
I have an apartment near a supermarket so I can hunker down and work from home alright.
Only arrived yesterday and both Tinder and Badoo blew up. A lot of keen ladies in this climate but it is getting them to me will be the challenge. I will keep you updated. If nothing else I can use this to earn/ save money LOL.

Just yesterday in the north west of Kenya 13 counties were put under tightened covid curfew and restrictions on movements.
Now today all of Uganda is goes into total lockdown.

None of this is good news for anyone who was hoping to be traveling in East Africa anytime in the near future.
All we can do is monitor the situation.

I'm trying to decide where to go on my next few trips and Uganda has been on my bucket list for a while. I've already connected with some girls on Tinder and the scene seems quite hot from afar!

I read that if you have the COVID vaccine, no need to do PCR test?

Posts: 197Thanks for the update concearning airport checks. So in case one has no vaccination but a PCR Test he is also taken in the bus?
I was in Kampala center in November 2019 and not so enthusiastic. There is a crazy traffic, polluted air and rather limited offer of nice food.
However I liked Entebbe. Maybe in a few months I give Uganda a second try and include sone other towns and gorilla watching.

Just arrived into Kampala and staying at a rather nice Airbnb apartment.
There are two health checks at Entebbe Airport. The first is to confirm that one has a yellow fever certificate; and the second is to see a Covid vaccination certificate and a PCR test. If you fail on the latter, you are directed towards a bus which takes you to a hotel where the test is carried out. It apparently lasts five hours. Those with the evidence given a red sticker on their passports and allowed to continue.
Although bars are still officially closed one of the advantages of the pandemic is that travelling between the airport and the apartment, after 9. 00 pm, took just 45 minutes rather than the normal two hours of madness.
Ordinarily, I would probably concentrate on hunting at the Rock Bar or other similar pickup joints and not do any preparation in advance. On this occasion, I have lined up a series of 'hookup dates' via Tinder. In chatting with them in advance, some of them admitted that they were really into playing a submissive role and wanted assurance that I was prepared to spank their arses and subject them to verbal abuse which is not normally my thing. Prices have varied between $40 and $100.
Hopefully, therefore, I should be able to give a number of lurid reports on my success during the week.

It is surely our role to help educate them in such matters!
I'm hopefully back on Uganda next month and should be able to give some curfew / covid reports.

Guys, I had some issues about Ugandan and Kenyan girls giving head.
Is this culture wise?
I know Ethiopian girls don't do this but I was astonished how conservative these Ugandan and Kenyan girls are.
Your impressions guys?
