Drug-smeared boobs knock out robbed men
From correspondents in Kampala
November 28, 2008 11:03pm
UGANDA'S police warned male bar-goers to keep their noses clean after a probe found a gang of robbers had been using women with chloroform smeared on their chests to knock their victims unconscious.
"They apply this chemical to their chest. We have found victims in an unconscious state," Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) spokesman Fred Enanga said.

Hi all,
Will be in Kampala 2nd week of December (prob Sheraton- only as it appears to be the "cheapest" hotel that has a room safe - planning on a variety of overnight stayers so don't want my camera and wallet going AWOL!).
After reviewing the whole of this forum though, I'm just wondering if anyone can offer advice on any of the following:
* Are there any cheaper hotels (than the Sheraton) with a room safe anyone knows of? (my favoured hotel the Speke doesn't appear to have one from looking at their website)
* Any hotel pools (preferably with a bar!) that have plenty of girls hanging around there during the day (found this was good for freebies in Thailand)?
* Is the Sheraton still a bit dodgy for bringing guests back? (will book a double which is OK for one guest, but plan on bringing 3 guests back at one time if I can get away with it based on the prices of girls I've read about!)
Also, does anyone know if/where the Sax Pub has relocated to???

The Tourist Hotel is ok. It's girl friendly, clean and reasonably cheap - US$45/single and US$60/double, including taxes and breakfast.
After a few days I moved to the Holiday Express Hotel. It's almost next door to the Tourist Hotel. Same prices, also girl friendly. Quality of rooms is far superior to the Tourist Hotel. But, avoid the rooms facing the road and market since they can be very noisy.
No need to pay for a double room unless the girl stays all night. In both hotels I found that the single room rate applies if the girl stays for up to 3 hours.Last edited by Pathologic; 11-24-08 at 11:44. Reason: duplicate terms

Posts: 98Decent Spots in Kampala and Entebbe
From a recent trip, in no specific order, for Kampala:
1. Rock Garden Bar (adjacent Speke Hotel) - plenty of girls, can get quite aggressive later in the night. Live bands. 20,000 ST and 30,000 LT.
2. Capitol Pub (Kabalagak) - same as Rock Garden, but in my opinion the average quality is not as good as Rock Garden. Quirky mannequins on the roof, decent live bands, average food and a few pool tables. Basic rooms can be had behind the pub for 5,000 for 1 hour.
3. Al's Bar - just down from Capitol Pub - quite good fun later in the night. Had the occasional blow job in the toilet for 5,000.
4. Plenty of bars around the Capitol pub.
5. Mateos Bar - city workers hangout, had some success here. A bit up market for Kampala.
6. Club Obligato - mainly Friday and Saturday nights for real Afrigo bands. Great fun. 10,000 entry on Fridays and 20,000 on Saturdays, but worth it.
7. Grand Imperial Hotel - so so.
8. Irish Pub - not too bad, but a bit out of the way.
9. Slow Boat - ok.
10. American Recreation centre - ok.
For Entebbe:
1. 4 Takta - ok.
2. Virgo Pub - university girls. Pretty good.
