First punting trip advice from seniors to junior

As title says, planning 3 week stay in Uganda, first time in Africa. As I understand Kabalagala is the main hunting grounds. Found a nice spot 30 min walk, 5-10 min by boda boda from it on Airbnb, got planned yellow fever vaccine appointment, e-visa. For transport use boda motorbike taxi on street or Bolt or SafeBoda.

According to Incrociatore: Cafe Javas for safe food. Best clubs are indeed in Kololo. When it's dark it's better if you stay in a club, a restaurant, or you stay at home with a girl. (Mentioned same prices as Neddy69).

According to Neddy69: LT 60 k (50 k + 10 k for the transport), and 30 k + 10 k for short term. 100 k night for hourglass, 8+ girls. (new to the game expecting to pay 130% of price mentioned). Keep cash in room hidden in rolled socks or somewhere unexpected. For cash withdrawal use Visa. MasterCard works as shit in Uganda.

According to PorkJoint63: (general advice in quoted post).

According to Incrociatore For cash withdrawal use Wise, DTB ATMs.

Month prior buy Tinder paid subscription, set location to Kampala and start matching making clear why you are in Kampala. Never send money over, always confirm with video call if there are excuses about video call drop it, move on. Meet in public place like cafe to confirm in person you get what you are willing to pay for, confirm price and service, then take her over.

All advice is welcome from senior adventurers.

If you're on a blast looking for some daytime / early evening options, here you go. Want to go Live, guaranteed. Otherwise I recommend just going to Capital Pub and use Badoo / Tinder. Depending on what you want and how pretty the girl prices for ST are between 5 k and 60 k. It's common to offer 10 k on top of the price she quoted to have Live sex.

These are hardcore prostitutes who often live, sleep and work in these brothels. Popular girls may have up to 10 customers a day. They won't have sex with you all night for free while they know guys are waiting. Capital and Badoo / Tinder generally offer more time / rounds and better service..

Also bar girls talk good English, I guess people in this forum are interested of that, not what people speak in office
I'm in Kampala right now and have had the opposite experience. Most girls are very difficult to understand. Talking to a taxi driver is almost impossible. Even the lady at the front desk at my hotel is harder to understand than a Texan. I have been to Kenya many times. Communication is much easier there.

    Women with mental issues

I call these women with mental issues, they don't have a dime and they behaving like shit.

I put some time, money and effort in it but it's really hopeless.

A simple question asking if she can please shave her leggs is already enough to start a verbal fight.

Just dump them and go to the next, despite her looks.

The number of posts says nothing about the content. See Tanzania thread. Some people talk a lot but say nothing. Others talk little but say a lot. People are different.

A lot of great information in this thread for someone planning a trip. How is the English in Kampala? Outside of Kampala in the countryside? When I approach random chicas for their phone numbers, will they be put off if I try English first? Do the local speak Swahili or Luganda to each other? Is it worth learning basic phrases in one or both of these languages?

I think you haven't understood the purpose of a forum yet. Exchange experiences and opinions.

If someone writes about hotels but doesn't say which hotels it is about, then they should shut up.
LOL. Neddy has been the most important contributor on the Afrika forum for probably the last decade. Dig a bit deeper in his previous posts. You could learn something from him.

And if Sceticoblu doesn't want to mention a hotel, then he doesn't. Many possible reasons not to share. Traceability being one.

According to the WHO, a total of 142 cases have been confirmed since the outbreak began. 55 people died. 17 cases were reported from Kampala. The last patient with a confirmed Ebola infection in Uganda left the hospital on November 30, according to local health officials.

According to the definition of the World Health Organization, an Ebola epidemic is over when no new infection occurs for 42 days in a row. So the epidemic ended in mid-January.

SceticoBlu, you should inform yourself better. Ebola cases did exist in Kampala. 17 cases. "I think in Kampala.... " What you think is irrelevant. Only facts are relevant.

It depends. Gesheft is an old senior member who widely traveled in Africa. I believe his story that the pic was scrounged and used by a girl to freshen up her online profile.

So is SceticoBlu who is widely travelled in Africa and whom I know personally. If he doesn't want to divulge the name of the hotel, which is mentioned many times in the Uganda Forum BTW. , that's his business LOL. And rest assured. I have a number of very cosy and cheap places. I don't divulge then as well. Except to very senior members. My network of informers spans over 10 African countries. If I want to know anything it cost me a WhatsApp message. And finally. For the umpteenth time. Booking in Africa is all but useless and overpriced. So is AirBnB. I prefer Agoda. But I never book. When I arrive I head to the hotel I found online and ask for the walk in price in local currency. Whatever is cheaper I use as basis for negotiation.

And finally. The best places are nowhere on the internet.

    Mwalimu.
