Hi Chaps,

I will be in kampala in Jan 2011 and will be staying at Sheraton Hotel can any one tell me is this hotel girl friendly?? I will be bringing guest for few hrs in afternoon or evening time but no overnight stay.Do we have to register guest at this hotel?Are there any cheap/safe hourly hotel/motels in kampala that can be used...Any info about the rate will be a great help.

Sheraton has never hassled me in any way when I brought a girl in during afternoon/early evening. You should either come in with her or meet her in the lobby. If she comes alone, or if you bring her in late at night they will make her register and if late night will charge extra for double room.

Have taken the bus from Nairobi to Kampala several times.... You arrive at the border at around 3 or 4 in the morning, but it is safe and there is no hassle...
East Africa is a lot safer than West Africa in my opinion...

I agree, the border Kenya-Uganda is easy. No luggage search, so
only passport red tape. The Ugandans are happy to cash the US$50
fee (increased from US$30). Dispatch is quick. Normally they grant 30 days stays but it happened they grant 3 month.

Well brian rest assured there are lots of buses to kampala frm mombasa and as for the girls mombasa has more pros but with attitudes hard to keep up with. Girls in uganda are cool with good sense of humour plenty of gf service if you get what I mean. Accommodation shdn't be a problem you will find good clean comfortable and hustle free accommodation just read the previous posts and kampala wilb on yo door step. If you are a mzungu there may be hassels taking the bus over the border in africa. I was going to take a bus from ghana to nigeria and was informed by both ghanians & nigerians that it is very rare for an obruni (mzungu/whiteman) to do this and some border officials will hassle you for a tip. I can not verify this but am only advising you to keep asking around until you find someone who has done this safely with no problems. Please report what you find out as I am interested also in knowing if this is possible or a problem.

Can you get a bus to Kampala from Mombasa. I am going to mombassa for two weeks, but I am also thinking maybe book a flight for 3 weeks and spend some time in Uganda.

Are the girls a similar price to Mombasa and is it possible to find cheap accommodation in Kampala, or maybe someone could recommend better places to go in Uganda for girls and basically just to see an other country. I will not be visiting Tanzania as they Charge Irish passport holders along with Americans double for a visa.

Well you'll save money in Uganda as Irish passport holders don't require a visa. As for the girls in Kampala they are cheaper and have less of an attitude than Mombasa ones. This will of course depend on where you go looking, but on the whole I think what I say is correct.

So, which bars do you recommend?

Rock Gardens at Speke Hotel and Capital Pub so far the best but quality of the girls depends on which days you go there. Thurs-Sat are the best days. You cnuld also try Al's Bar. All those places have variety of girls from also neighbouring countries.
