That's true, but I was planning to visit at least a national park, so I took the profilaxy. Then, at the very last moment, I decided to stay in Kampala, because I didn't want to travel for hours on a bus. If you decide to visit a park, find a girl before willing to join you. The entrance for the locals is cheap, and the accommodation comes for free, since you'll have anyway paid for a room. There is a bus company called LINK that can take you to Masindi for 30 k (if I'm not mistaken), and from there you can get a connection to Murchison Falls. I wanted to see the gorillas in Bwindi, but it was too expensive.

I was 2018 in Kampala and not very convinced. But maybe next January I give it another try.

Good information Incrociatore. Also not to sleep with pregnant girls and to use a condom is a good advice. Only you put it together and as a result sounded a bit funny to me.

You simply get a Wise VISA Debit card, and you withdraw the money from the ATM like with any other card. There is no conversation to be made because you have to open a virtual wallet with Wise before, in shillings. You can transfer the money to the wallet with a wire transfer or from another credit card. Once the money is on your electronic wallet, it can be spent or withdrawn from the card from any ATM, you just need to remember your pin.

You will not be detained if you get someone pregnant. There's no legal precedent and they have no way to prove its even yours.

For malaria, go to a local pharmacy (chemist). You will get the medication that works best on the type of malaria there, you won't need a prescription and its cheap.

    Mosquitos

I'm not sure I mentioned the mosquitos chapter.

During this time mosquitos aren't so common. If you stay in Kampala and you wear jeans and socks, you would not need a mosquito repellent. I still recommend a malaria profilaxy. I took Malarone. I didn't have any side effects. It must be taken the day before you travel, then one pill a day for the entire journey, and for one week after you are back home. The alternative is Doxycycline, but it has to be taken for one month when you return home. Also it's an antibiotic, so you'll have to take probiotics as well, and your skin will become very sensitive to the sun. Malarone is more expensive but it works better, even if is heavier on the liver.

Always rent an apartment with a mosquito net around the bed. Buy a mosquito spray and use it a few hours before you go to sleep, then lock the room. One night there was a mosquito inside the net, and we were able to kill it before it sucked our blood.

You can't get a drone in the country

If you are planning to take pictures, keep in mind locals don't like to be photographed. Also, bare in mind, you cannot get a drone in the country, it's forbidden. You'll have to put in a deposit, and then get it back when you leave. I have been told this by a Spanish fella I met in the airport on my way back.

You'll need your passport to get a SIM card

I forgot to mention, I believe, that you will need your passport to get a SIM card. Once you have it, keep your passport at home. I suggest you to get an Airtel SIM card. There is a 24 GB package which cost around $10 and last a month if I'm not mistaken. If you have WIFI at home, probably 12 GB will be more than enough for 3 weeks. I think I used 4 GB in total.

If you come inside a girl and eventually she tests positive, she may go to the police. I doubt she will test if you are using a condom or if you don't come inside her. I don't think all girls will do it, but rest assured that some will. This is, of course, a second hand information, but it's coming from a local, so I'm sure it happened.

It is not, unfortunately. I have been told by the host of the first apartment I rented. Of course this is not the behaviour you might expect from every girl, but you may find a ***** who can get you in trouble. Girls are young and fertile, so if you don't pull it out in time you may end up in trouble. I didn't find a single one who was taking the contraceptive pill, and they are all more than happy for you to come inside if you don't use the condom. Because they think you'll support them if you get them pregnant. Using the condom or not, it's not just your decision. Some girls will ask for it, some will not. Be aware this might not be necessarily a good sign. Surprisingly, I think it's way easier to fuck without condom in Africa than in Brazil or Colombia.

Also, never send any money for the transport. They use AirTel and MTN money networks. You can send and receive money on your local number for a small fee. Many girls ask to send money for the transport. I never did, but most likely if you do they will not show up. I have been told by a girl that a friend of her sent 100 k to a girl for transport, and she didn't show up. A local guy. So don't send any money. If a girl insists, most likely she is a scammer. If a girl doesn't have any money (which might happen), tell her you'll pay for her boda boda, or call an Uber (boda boda) for her. In Uganda you can select boda boda as transport vehicle in the Uber app. And you can also specify the transport is not for you, providing the phone number of the girl. You will always pay cash.

You have to ask this Incrociatore. He recommended to use a condom in order that the police will not take your passport.

They will take your passport, and you'll have to stay there till the baby is born. And girls are young and fertile, and they are more than happy for you to cum inside. So, if you do not use the condom there is also this eventuality.

Bare in mind, according to the stats, 6. 8% of the female has HIV. So I wouldn't dare to shag with a prostitute without condom. At the same time, it's also true that not all the girls fuck for money, especially if you hunt on the street. Some aren't even on Tinder, the most I would say. I say there are 3 types of girls: the prostitutes, the girls on Tinder (which may like to fuck around if there is an opportunity), and the girls you meet on the street (who may or may not fuck around).
