Now a quite interesting video can be seen about nightlife & prostitution in Kampala.

It is from the Dutch TV-program "Spuiten & Slikken" which means "Shooting & Swallowing" and it's about all facets of sex & drugs worldwide.

The documentary is in Dutch, but most of the interviews are in English.

The program has two topics, one about drug users in Greece and the other one about Kampala, so you have to scroll a bit.

As a frequent visitor to Kampala since 2001, I can see that this video was shot at Kabalagala, a few km outside downtown Kampala. Compared to the hardened pros of that city, the girl he interviewed at the end was rather cute and nice, not at all having a hardened attitude, I do hope he gave her the 50000 ugx that she was looking for, whether they had sex or not. After all, she helped make his report so much more viewable, and as he said in Dutch, thats not much money to him, its less than 20 euros. I was downtown Amsterdam last month and 20 euros there will hardly pay for a meal and two beers. I would advise taking her further away from the disco than he did, (there are decent guest houses along the main road through Kansanga, on Ggaba Road, one is German-run, on the left just near the petrol station that is on the right) to avoid the possibility of being stalked and blackmailed by local men, to pay them money lest they bring the police along. To be blackmailed further. Because extramarital sex is still illegal in Uganda, so one needs to give the impression that the girl is one's wife. Most of the other WGs he would have met in those discos are much harsher and not even ready to waste their time on being interviewed. I have been avoiding the pros in Kampala ever since about 7 years ago I had the misfortune of choosing a bad apple, after buying her a lot of drinks we went to my hotel and being savvy I asked her whats her price, she refused to name a price, so I decided not even to have sex with her, but in the night she acted horny and we did something akin to abortive penetration, truth is she wasn't acting sexy or offering a BBBJ so my erection was only a semi. In the morning she asked for money and kicked up a huge fuss when I offered her only 50000 ugx."for her time only". She started the game some of them play, of shouting and blocking the door when I threatened to call hotel security, saying that its got to be 100000 ugx, then she threatened me that she can have me harassed and bothered by government internal security officers for the whole duration of my whole stay. Which, to be honest I could not risk, so I felt forced to give her the full hundred thou. And on another occasion I realised that the club-hopping nightlife in Kampala is far from safe compared to Mombasa. Basically the Ugandan males out at night are complete jerks and assholes, and they control the girls. Scary! Much better you use social networking to line up 5 or 10 hotties before you go to Uganda, then take a room in a nice guest house and then then you meet one girl after another at local bars, then stroll back for a hot night in bed with her, I mean non-pros. That way the girl is really horny for you, and the question of money isn't such an issue. Yes she will probably want something in cash, but that's fair enough, she's got to eat, she's got to feed her family, and her neighbours too. But the difference is for you as a visitor. You'll feel so much happier and safer about your stay in Uganda. Find a girl who genuinely likes men of your own colour, whatever that may be, and don't risk picking up a girl in the night clubs. Yes, there are plenty of nice genuine girls who go out at night, but as a stranger its so so hard to find them, because you will be hunted and homed-in on first by the hardcore WGs. I usually try to teach those vulture girls a lesson, by telling them not to sit with me, because "I am the hunter here, not you! I will hunt and choose the girl I want, so lay off me, will you!" And they smile and leave me alone, telling each other "He has no money". (LOL). I know swahili so I know that's what they tell each other! Not that he doesn't fancy me or that he's not here looking for a girl tonight, but "He has no money". Ignorance is bliss!

I have a question, I hope this is the right forum. I know sub Saharan Africa well, and I love black African girls. I enjoy their ways and attitudes too. I have the option now to fly over to the Far East, say Thailand, or return to the beautiful black continent. The flight costs are similar. As I look on various web sites, what I feel is that Thailand and other countries are so much more commercial than Africa. I like to find free local smiling sexy girls.

My question is simple. Am I right? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks. Cheers.

Not sure if by "commercial" you mean sex trade but far and away my favorite in SE Asia is Philippines; find boatloads of both pros and non pros. GFEs very easy esp when using web site such as filipino cupid dot com

I do suspect that you could be right. I don't think there is one. I heard that DePosh do or used to do every Sunday but an actual strip club as defined by a westerner I think not.

Many pubs / clubs have 'theme nights' featuring dancers or bikini girls. Rouge's bikini nights are very popular and are often covered in Red Pepper; the local gossip rag. I was in Iguana a couple of years ago and they had ONE very average girl in a bikini doing some lazy, uninspired dancing. Yawn.

Again, there are no legalized western style strip joints in Kampala. Underground Ugandan clubs existed years ago and still occasionally pop up, but are usually closed and everybody (including the customers) are arrested in short order.

There used to be a place in Mengo a few years back, where we used to be regulars. Ask the boda boda guys for kimansulo, they will take you.

Where is the best area or club to find university girls?

Kampala is relatively small so university girls are more or less everywhere. Girls from the major universities in town (MUK, MUBS, KIU, etc) can all be found at the same hot spots in town along with the upwardly mobile population. What's running hot depends on who you talk to. However, the general consensus at the moment seems to be Amnesia and Cayenne, but guaranteed a handful of others are still in the discussion.

Of course, larger concentrations of girls can be found around the university areas (campuses and hostels) and in the cheaper clubs / pubs known to be frequented almost exclusively by students. In both cases, male students will also be around in equal if not greater numbers so a girl looking for a Ugandan sugar daddy or p4p foreigner (presumably you) will typically not do so openly in the presence of their university classmates / boyfriends.

My recommended approach for the short time newbie would be to check out the hot spots in town (avoiding 'campus nights') and to stay away from the university areas and pubs / clubs. It's just not worth it unless you're familiar with the landscape and know how to negotiate it. Your time would be better spent getting some initial university contacts on-line (in advance of your arrival if possible) and then networking from there.

Thank you Zimzam, I suspect that the girl on the pole is in fact doing what I consider to be stripping however, I saw your post and the video at the time which is actually what made me respond at the time and now. All or most of the bars in the video were identified but so far, no one can actually verify that this was not a one-off event. I shall give up my search and look for something else.

Sure, you will find strip clubs in Kabalagala but I wonder why anyone would want to frequent such in Africa! In my opinion (not that you asked but I will share it anyway) , strip clubs are guaranteed wastes of money and potentially frustrating experiences. I understand some guys have to pop the blue pill, and while it takes some time to become effective, they figure "why not while the time away looking at some coochie while sipping a drink and smoking a cancer stick." Now, I do plan to open my own strip club chain because they are guaranteed wastes of money (from patron perspective)! Anyway, just go to Kabalagala on any given night. If you want to see women sporting tubs of lard around their waists while showing off their good good, then the strip joints are where you want to be. If you instead just want a nice relaxing evening out capped off with happy endings into the early morning hours, then just pop into any of the night clubs and work your game. Or better yet, call up a previous contact you scored that day or before and invite her over for dinner.

Like I said, I don't get off to strip clubs or even massage parlors, but everyone is free to do what floats his boat (I hate cliches, especially ones that make no sense at all!) , I mean everyone is free to do whatever tickles his fancy. I have been attended both public and underground "private" strip shows (both chop your money but the underground shows also feature open air sex as well as sex behind closed doors whereas the strip club usually will not feature open air sex and might not allow closed curtain sex) , and all I can say is I have left most strip clubs a few Washington's lighter and with baby oil, body dirt, and pubic funk smeared on legs of my pants from lap dance. No thank you, but you will be more than welcome to step into my clubs in a city near you!
