Ok boys I waited long enough to report on my recent trip to Lusaka. I lived in Kenya for four years and thought I learned all I needed to know about level headed mongering. I guess not. I always forget how much of a drunken piece of shit I can become.

Arrived in Lusaka after a long airline trip about 5 in the afternoon. I arrived at my hotel near the Holliday Inn. I arranged for a taxi to drive me around town so that I could get orientated to the city

After driving around and seeing the city I asked the driver to let me off at the Holliday Inn. As I drank some moshie I noted some ladies hanging out at the bar. None looked that good and all looked a little rough around the edges.

After a few beers I got into another taxi toward Alpha bar. The taxie was only 10,000 Kwatcha from the Inn to Alpha. I arrived at 10:00 and the bar was dead. By 12:30 the place was packed. Many Many Many young and hot looking ladies. The biggest difference between a bar in Nairobi and Lusaka is that the ladies are not anywhere as aggressive.

I started drinking really heavy and talking to some chick. I ran out of money and went back to my hotel about 2:00 to get more money. I came back to alpha and started drinking even harder. THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE

This is where I was approached by two women. The one was an Indian and the other was a Zambian. Both turned out to be a complete nightmare the next morning. They most have spotted the sloppiest drunk in the bar.

After much talking to them about what I want to do to them. I ended up getting into a taxi and going to their flat someplace in Lusaka. ANOTHER MISTAKE. We ended up fuckiing all night and also added their house girl into the mix. I then stated no she is not going to get 200 and that I gave her house hand all my money. She stated to bad that she was not going to open the door until I manifested some money. During this I was looking at my situation and my environment. All the windows were bared and the door had a rebar cage around it (quite Norman in Africa). I knew that I was not able to kick the door open or squeeze my fat ass out a window. I thought about cold cocking the ladies and taking the keys. But I thought that this would be a huge fight and all the neighbors would be running to help the ladies out. So I did the next best thing. I lied. I told the Indian (who was the ring leader of this opportunity) that I could get her more money if I could just go back to my hotel “Lusaka hotel” to get my money card. The Indian was real skeptical about this but as time continued and I showed her that I in fact did not have any more money she finally gave in.

As she was getting dressed I continued to walk around the flat. I found myself back in the bedroom and stumbled upon the 300,000 kwatcha that the house girls stashed away. I thought fuck her and the rest. They were trying to steal money from me so I am going to steel the money back from them. I re pocked the money in my socks and left with the Indian ***** to my so called hotel. This Indian was like a fly on shit. I did not know what I was going to do but felt liberated to be out of that fucking apartment. I was thinking about rolling out of the taxie on the way to the hotel. We got down to Lusaka Hotel and I pretended to walk in the front door but the Indian was right behind me. I did not want a seen so I told her that I had my ATM card and that we could go to the Barclays across the street. At this she was pressuring me for the 200 dollars and I was thinking no fucking way am I paying this **** anything more than 300,000 (which is way to much). I took out the money and gave it to her and she was still persistent.

At this point I was considering jacking her in the head to be done with it. So I kept walking and she followed. I crossed the street and guess who comes walking around the corner? The house girl I took the money from. She started asking me and the other girl if we took the money from her. I was like “money what’s money”. The two girls argured for a while and the Indian finaly came to my defense stating that I could not have stolen the money and that she must have put it in the wrong place.

Finally the ordeal was over and they left and I went back to my hotel not anywhere close to Lusaka Hotel.

It was not a big deal and my only problem is that drinking is my worst enemy. I hope I did not bore you all. I cant forget that It is not a good idea to get [CodeWord140] durk in Africa surrounded by ladies.

Yes, I could have paid much less but I don't get any enjoyment from exploiting women who are trying to make it in a hard economic environment. In the 70's and 80's when the Zambian economy was booming no Zambian woman would go out with a foreigner. When the economy collapsed in the 90's most women had to look for alternative means of income. Don't flatter yourself by thinking they are after you for your looks or charm and therefore would sleep with you for a pittance! Was at Alpha Bar last Tuesday watching Man U getting thumped at home by Chelsea. Many of the girls there were Chelsea fans! I noticed there's been some recent talk in the Ghana forum regarding malaria. Therefore, I thought I'd share some info on this subject as it relates to Zambia.

First, there IS malaria here. Apparently, it's not as bad as in some other african countries but the risk is still there. I was fairly paranoid about getting bitten by a mosquito while I was there.

Second, it's easily avoided by taking a preventative medication. The one I got is called Deltaprim. The drug name is pyrimethamine (12.5mg) and dapsone (100mg). It's manufactured in South Africa and comes in a blue and white box with a picture of a mosquito on it.

You can get Deltaprim at many pharmacies without a prescription. You take 1 tablet a week as a preventative measure. That means box of twenty costing roughly $2 should be enough to last for 4 or 5 months.

I was reading some of the posts from Mozambique and one of the guys mentioned something about the cost of a car rental. That reminded me of something. So, here's a bit of extra info that never got mentioned in my previous posts.

The cost of renting a vehicle in Zambia is ridiculous! For some reason prices there are unbelievably high. I was considering renting a Landcruiser GX to get around while I was there. The price came out to about $250 a day. After checking around, it seemed like this was actually the going rate.

I don't know why it's so expensive, but it is. If you're going to Zambia anytime soon, you might want to factor this into your travel plans.
