Lusaka Prostitute Electrocuted While Having Sex With Client On ZESCO Pole

It is sad that a prostitute was yesterday reportedly electrocuted by a live electrical cable as she offered her services to a client behind Break Point club in Lusaka Kabwata area.

The woman in her early twenties and only named as Mary had decided to have pity on a client behind Break Point because he could not afford money for a lodging.

Their ‘sugar’ moment never reached its ‘climax’ when Mary was suddenly electrocuted. According to the police her client escaped by sheer luck. Her body is at UTH Mortuary awaiting collection by relatives.

Lusaka was a very pleasant experience. Streets were pretty clean and in good shape for an African capital. Girls were active, I was approaced on the streets for company by several. Zambia High Commission in Dar never answered phone and no flights were going to Zambia so I asked around about a border crossing in Tunduma. I made a bunch of phone calls and one person who answered office at border gave me a number of his driver friend who offered to get me across for US $300. Travel agencies in Dar warned me about fake stamp scams so I decided to try by myself for starters.

I flew down to Mbeya and spent a nice day and night an a pleasant lodge there. Next day, I took a car down to Tunduma for 90 K Shillings. Similar to the Uganda-Tanzania border office, this is a one-stop shop with exit and entry desks right next to or across from each other. At first, Zambia told me that border is closed except for truckers but I just kept saying I needed to go to see someone. The lady finally directed me to go inside the office to speak with her boss. The office had several people with various issues and the one in charge came around to me from time to time to know my story. The tone was also one of refusal but at the same time, I figured that if I was in there, a way was possible. I asked a favor from the officer and apologized for needing to go at such an inconvenient time. I then told him that I understood they would be going to special trouble for me so I would be willing to offer a special service charge of US $150 in addition to the $50 single entry visa fee.

After 90 more minutes of going back and forth, they finally agreed. I went out to the tend, got my COVID schwab, then used the sticker for that to get my health certificate, got my exit stamp for Tanzania, then finally made my payment (she confirmed that the visa was just $50 and anything else I put on the table was of my own free volition, not her request). The single entry visa is just a stamp which doesn't take much space which is good because my passport is almost full after just 4 years of use.

Crossed over, got my SIM card and some Zambain Kwatcha, secured a bus ticket down to Lusaka for next morning, then spent the night at a hotel down the road. The next morning, I went back to station and got on bus by 4:30 am. Ride was 14 hours and a lot of the roads were terrible. But it was interesting to see how remote and primitive much of rural Zambia is.

The bus station in Lusaka is very dodgy but I finally managed to get my Ulendo driver to right exit of bus station (no way I'm walking out of there in the surrounding dark streets). He took me to Troy Lodge which is brand new and very nice at just $29 for small single rooms and $39 for doubles. It's walking distance to EastPark Mall so location is excellent.

So I've been in Lusaka for a few days and have been hanging out with one girl I know here. Here are my general impressions so far:

- General English level good but not quite as strong as Kampala.

- City has much better roads, infrastructure, malls, and general organization than similar sized Kampala or huge and sprawling Dar es Salaam. The weather is nice and cool and it never rains this time of year. In general, Lusaka does not get much rain for the whole year.

- With the exchange at US$1 = 18 Kwatcha, Lusaka is no longer expensive the way it was a year or two ago when the greenback was a lot weaker here. Some things here seem rather cheap and it's probably comparable to Dar but still pricier than Kampala.

- Even though Pokeris and I have different taste when it comes to individuals, as a whole, we often see cities in a similar light. I agree with him that the girls here are just generally bland and unattractive. After all these days going around the malls and all over town, I've not seen even one girl I consider very attractive. Thus, you probably should give this city a pass if you want to monger or meet the love of your life in spite of it being safer, cleaner, more developed, and more organized than majority of sub-saharan African capitals.

- I wonder if girls in neighboring country capitals (Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, etc.) look significantly better or are all these countries pretty similar when it comes to having a dearth of attractive women?

- In following days, I may try to see a small safari since I'm down here.

Take a bus from lusaka to livingstone for 200 kvacha it takes around 8 hours. Was staying at pumulani lodge for 380 kwacha per night. I highly recommend this place, hotel is nice, good wifi, comfortable bed, hot water, air con, quiet at night and just 200 metres away from new fairmount club (best disco at livingstone).

Nightlife:

Club new fairmount- most popular club but was open just on weekends when I was visiting livingstone. Its nice modern place on Friday night was packed, plenty of girls inside but as zambian girls is not good looking so not great choice. Beer price is 20 kwacha water is 10 kwacha.

Limpos. Most popular place which open everyday till 2 am. They have shisha here, many places for sitting and after 10 pm its packed, plenty of girls who is not shy come and talk with you themself. Beer price between 15-20 kwacha.

Club blue ray-local place with sitting places inside and at balcony was open on weekday have some girls inside beer was very cheap if I remember good just 10 kwacha.

Fezbar- cheap beer have some girls but best to go on weekend.

The be hive bar- its was almost empty on weekend beer castle lite price is 20 kwacha, but some girls told me its good place on weekend.

Club east point. Is closed nor working anymore.

Taxis charge around 20 kwacha at night for 1-2 kilomitres ride. For 11 kilomitres ride to the border I pay 80 kwacha.

Also some girls told me you can use taxi here like collective (like matatus) its cost 8 kwacha for a ride but I never use at daytime I like to walk I take taxi just at night.

Visited zambia (lusaka) few weeks ago. Get kaza univisa for 50 dollars its valid for zambia and zimbabwe multiply times paid for it with mastercard at airport to get visa took less than few minutes no paper works need to fill it. Buy airtel sim card with 6 Gb data for 100 kwacha. Went outside and ask taxi drivers how much to kabulonga area they told me 350 kwacha I said its to much and offer 200 kwacha I get few refuse but third driver accept to take me. Anyway it was fair price same as local uber (ulendo taxi). I strongly reccomend to use ulendo taxi app (local uber) instead taxis because they rip you off or download ulendo app check price on it and offer same price for taxis most of the times they accept it. Transport is expensive at zambia comapre with east africa even for 6-7 kilomitres ride with local uber is cost 70 kwacha. They don't have any boda bodas here or bajaj, just taxis and mini van (matatus) .

Stayed at airbnb for 20 dollars per night at 1 bedroom apartament 5 minutes away by walk from kabulonga shopping mall and club chez ntemba. Tinder, badoo and other dating sites have thousand girls at lusaka just problem zambians girls are not good looking at all compare with other african countries I have been.
