Posts: 61Recently spent a few days in Zambia.
Lusaka. Club 101 is very good on weekends (non pros can be found here) after 12 but the Wednesday ladies night was only half full. Rhapsodys always had a few pros and has a band some nights, News Cafe was quiet, Times mainly guys watching soccer. O'Hagans in Woodlands (used to be in Manda Hill) again mainly men when I was there. This used to be good before the move.
Livingstone. Lots of action to be had in the following places all in or around the main street. Fairmont Hotel disco (only went on the weekend so not sure if this is open weekdays) Ayoba (especially upstairs) CC Sports cafe (more quiet) and East Point (opposite Fairmont but off the main road). Had a great time going between all of these places and lots of girls on offer.
Overall I had more fun in Livingstone than Lusaka at night, taxis have gone abit expensive these days than I recall from my last trip 4 years ago. Lusaka continues to develop rapidly, and I find the girls there very attractive and Zambians are very friendly and the country is safe. Its not really a top mongering African destination as in countries such as Uganda and Nairobi there are more women and better clubs but if you were to combine it with a trip to Victoria Falls and / or a safari it won't disappoint.

I don't know why there is so much quiet and stillness here, unlike Zambia.
Zambia is full of activity and I am sure our Forum members are active there.
Please keep posting your experiences.
Ciao, Bice

Sorry. In my mind I am already on my next trip. Thus the mistake: Of course, the capital of Zambia is Lusaka.
Kampala will take me into her arms in January 2013.

Hi John. You ask where I found this treasure.
I spent my first morning in Zambia / Kampala strolling along Cairo Street, and then had lunch in a cafeteria there. While balancing my food tray and looking for a table, a couple of ladies gestured me to join them. All 40-something office workers who were just curious to talk with this Mzungu. We had a wonderful talk and when I mentioned that I would like to get to know (a) local family (ies) one lady immediately invited me to join her family for dinner that evening. I accepted and she even gave me the phone number of a taxi driver who would know how to get me to her place.
I showed up at her compound that evening with a bag full of presents for the lady and the kids that I was told to meet there. Her place was well out in the periphery of Lusaka, and upon arrival the power went out. Load Shedding! Well. I was introduced to several neighbor ladies and a lot of kids. Cooking went on in the yard like mad on several little charcoal braziers. By candle light. Beer flowed freely. I am sure that each of the ladies would have been able to drink me under the table. Serving started at about 7:30 and a few more people showed up. Among them this STUNNING beauty! I am sure that everybody there must have noticed the widening of my eyes! With some good-natured joking she was placed right next to me.
Oh. I sent out one of the boys twice with some money to get some more beer.
Near midnight, when it was time for me to get back to my hotel (StayEasy. Very nice and affordable. In the center of town) I offered this beauty a ride home. While in the taxi I asked her to meet me again next day. I knew that on this evening she had to be home! After that night I never slept by myself again while in Zambia.

I triple antibiose myself prophylactically so do not bother with gyn exams and got my tubes cut (after 4 kids at home) so don't worry too much about the procreative complications.

Maybe I am not a typical member of this forum. When I do visit African countries I come as a tourist (yes. I am old enough to have 'retired'). I want to discover and explore these countries. I found that part of the beauty of these countries are the wonderful ladies there. But I have found the commercial aspect not very attractive. Too cold. Too mechanical. A few years ago I discovered that it is very possible to develop a real romantic relationship with a local beauty and have it last for a good time, three years in one of my cases.
My recent stay of four weeks in Zambia was no different. I met a young lady early on and we spent all four weeks traveling together. She introduced me to her family and opened other doors for me. All along it was clearly understood that there was no future to our relationship. Which of course does not mean desires in that direction were never present.
My sweetheart was a stunning African beauty: Tall, slim, long-legged, full-breasted, with a very round and very firm ass. A real model. Oh my. How she could turn heads wherever we appeared. I could see the envy in the faces of older white guys when we showed up in nice restaurants or bars, and even more interesting, the look of concern on the faces of their spouses. They were afraid their men might take an example from our appearance.
Although only a third my age, my sweetheart had all the necessary experience to make me deliriously happy at night (or afternoon, or morning, or whenever it came over us). But such is the beauty of a long-term relationship. As time wore on, we learned what pleased the other most, every day it was better than it was the day before.
As soon as she agreed to come traveling with me, and it was clear that we would spend at least three more weeks together, I sent her to a gynecologist for a complete examination. She came out absolutely clean. So she went on contraceptives, and for the rest of the time no more condoms. Which I find the biggest 'mood killers. '
On top of all this, my sweetheart had completed secondary education, was very smart and could carry on a great conversation. I was never, ever, bored.
Cost? I made a rough estimate of how much extra I had to pay (double occupancy rates, two meals, two tickets, the occasional new dress, etc.) and I think that it came about to a wash judging by the 'negotiated' rates I was quoted in Lusaka bars.
Later, I went on for another three weeks in Malawi. I will report on that in the Malawi forum.
Now I am looking forward to five weeks in Uganda in January / February 2013.
