1. The Tavern on Nyere Drive has been converted into offices. So forget about that one. A few Zim girls still hang around the parking bays at the back of the Choppies at night. They have rooms nearby. Car needed. Costs. P100 to P150 for a quickie. (Even a local would find it difficult to get anything for P50. Not impossible, but unlikely).

2. Chez Ntemba is now called Trekkers but is basically the same place. Lots of non pro's / semi pro's / pro's. Costs. Free for non-pros. P250 upwards for semis / pros for all nighters. Watch for thugs.

3. The Gaborone West Phase 1 Disco burnt down spectacularly. Lots of Zim street girls hang around opposite the Shell station at night, as always. P100 to P150 for a quickie. Most have rooms. You'll need a car.

4. George's Bar (by Broadhurst Primary) has changed ownership and is now a shadow of it's former self. It's still open but has zero atmosphere, hardly any customers, and hardly any booze! It's quite a depressing place to be, especially if you knew how it was before, but bizarrely there always still seems to be one or two shagable non-pros / semi pros who pop in.

5. Gabs Sun & Grand Palm Casinos. Always a few pro's and semi-pros either at the bar or sitting in front of gaming machines looking for business. All nighters from P250 upwards...

I haven't been mongering in Bots for a while. It's good to catch up with the latest info. I heard about Chez Ntemba closing, I will look out for it next time am there just to check out the offers. I liked it because parking was usually not a problem unlike the Maruapula shopping centre. There used to be a club called Zebras on the Molepolole road. But that was a while back (maybe 10 years). And I agree about the secretaries. Absolutley easy prey.

A year is a long time in Francistown in my opinion. It may be small for you, depending on how you like to spend your time. Lots of opportunities to hobby though. Easy access to Gabs for the weekend and Zim on occasion.

6. Club Zoom at the Maruapula shopping centre. Probably the best place to go nowadays to find a lady. It's a club in 2 sections. One side has dance music and the other side rock / soul music. Always packed. The car park outside usually has about a million people hanging around, which can be daunting but actually makes it safer. Once inside people are friendly and mix well. Lots of non-pro's / semi-pro's inside. P20 admission.

6."Normal" bars. Bull and Bush always has pro's & semi pro's at the outside bar and the tables nearby. Also has non-pro's. News Cafe. More the kind of place you would take a date. Usually good food. They have a disco now on Fri (or is it Sat?) so you could possibly find a non-pro there if you are charming. Same with O'Hagans at Game City, Masa Centre, Fusion (formerly Fashion Lounge) and Boulevard in Phakalane. Plenty of non-pro's but it is not too difficult to find a lady if you are a foreigner. (The trick is getting them to go away afterwards). P. S. The chicks in Fusion at the weekend are like super models.

OK, that's the bars. Other ways to find company. Try a website called Twoo. I think every single lady in Gaborone is on there looking for love. I also really liked that idea someone had of hanging around the bus station bridge at the end of the day (when all the hot secretaries are making their way home) and striking up a conversation with whoever. Pure genius. And now you everyone is funnelled through the Railway Mall so it is even easier. Thousands of hot women pass though that little section of the Mall every afternoon."Excuse me I'm new here and I don't know how to load air time on to my phone. Can you help. Thanks, and what is your number?". Like shooting fish in a barrell!

Had a quick 4 day visit where I got food poisoning which curtailed my activities but here's my thoughts. Firstly there seems to have been some large works done on the roads over the last few years which I guess makes it easier to get around but it took me a day to get my bearings. Bull and Bush on a Wednesday was quiet, only a couple of girls. Thursday I went to News Cafe in the day and got a pick up there. Evening I checked out the Grand Palm and quite a few girls in the bar generally of a decent quality. Friday I ate in News cafe and joined 3 students who took me to Pavillion nearby. This place had loads of extremely hot girls. Later went to Boulevard (near the golf club Phakalane) which was jammed with very pissed up people not of a high quality. For a hot pissed up dancing night this is the place if you like that. Saturday was too ill to go out but if I had been well I would have spent my last night at Pavillion.

Is it similar to Jo'burg or Capetown safety wise? I am a middle aged, white american male, don't act or dress flashy and generally keep to myself.

Gaborone is much safer than any other african city I have been. I used to drive myself no need for a driver. Thugs are around but I did not feel insecure. There are good chances of finding a freelancer in any bar / club. It is generally up to you. I had three girls during my 2 visits and all they wanted was fun with me. African girls are hot and they enjoy sex. One of the girls asked me money for breakfast and I gave her 200 Pula. HIV is an issue and safe sex is highly recommended. Hope it helps.
