It opens when it opens. Meanwhile no restrictions for Colombia or Mexico. So many places in Mexico where you actually enjoy being there where as Madagascar's got the only one thing going for it. If you're really broke or terminally on the cheap, try Tuxtla, or anywhere in Chiapas.

LOL So true and Bogota to DR or Bogota to Mexico city is only 100 USD one way so I am using Bogota as a hub to explore.

Regarding to Mada there is one advantage only above all those countries you can get a GF and spend unlimited time with her without calculating the time. Other than that Mada is garbage.

Nothing wrong with those rules as long as you qualify and have all the requisite documentation. 1 night quarantine and a 25 dollar test? That is nothing compared to what some countries are currently doing, and likely will be doing in the near future. I will be content to sit here in Mexico until December and see how things go.

Forget it. Too late. The flights are booked solid already by returning expats and malgache. Unless you like to pay moon prices. At least till December. Further you have to read the fine print There will be a red list, which is not published yet. When its out and your country is on it. Game over. EVEN if you have a valid ticket. The next issue. It would not be the first time that the malgache government retracts everything again if they see rising cases. Be prepared to get stuck in paradise?

The article says PCR test on arrival. Quarantine between 24 an 48 hours pending test results. If positive 14-day quarantine.

Nothing wrong with those rules as long as you qualify and have all the requisite documentation. 1 night quarantine and a 25 dollar test? That is nothing compared to what some countries are currently doing, and likely will be doing in the near future. The local constabulary will have the same opportunity to ding you as they currently do if you don't have your passport with you. Frankly worth the opportunity considering you MAY be hit a couple of times for 5 or 10 K. I can handle that over a stretch of 2-3 months. Hopefully the dolts in charge of immigration will bring back the 3 month VOA. I will be content to sit here in Mexico until December and see how things go.

Unfortunately they are going to start opening just as hurricane season arrives.

December is perfect in Tana and Nosy. Jan is another story start to be a pain.

Odd I did not see any mention of required vaccination, fully or otherwise. Did I miss something or is it not going to be necessary. Have to say I would be quite surprised if they just let it slide after a year and a half of isolation. Unfortunately they are going to start opening just as hurricane season arrives. I am guessing this process will develop hiccups along the way and there will be a few steps back as they try to figure things out. I am going to just say fuck it till next year summer time (northern hemisphere summertime!

Until now not really interesting but better than nothing. Madagascar will Re-open it's borders step by step, starting with regional flights. Later Air France and Air Madagascar will offer flights to Europe.
