Have to say I felt very Nervous the entire time I was in Madagascar, many years ago. For someone used to South East Asian countries, particularly Thailand, it was very difficult to get used to. Haven't been back since.

Spelicci: Does it crazy idea to visit Maroantsetra to Sambava from Jan to March as far as cyclones and rain pattern?

Or better to hide at Morondava till April.

I forgot this one: choose air transport to Sambava or Maroantsetra. Roads conditions from antananarivo to those cities can be very "surprising" during rain period!

This period is, even without cyclones, rainy period! And believe me, rain on the east coast can force you to stay at the hotel during your stay! And if cyclone is there, you are in danger!

I suggest you to choose west ans south (Morondava, Toleara, Fort-Dauphin,.) which are more "sunny" even during rain period!

But Maroantsetra and Sambava, and all east regions are better from May to October I think!

I was in Majunga this weekend and despite the temperature (not less than 35°C) , it is a kind city and girls are very pretty!
