I don't think I will be booking a flight just yet. I suspect they will not have things ready for October (5 weeks away?) if it is going to be done properly. Then there will be PCR tests, possible quarantines, and initially at least, only 2 test destinations. I do not care for Nosy Be and St. Marie will get old very fast. If you have been there you will know what I mean. That said if it takes off with few / no restrictions I will be happy to jump on board. Guess we will just have to keep waiting and see how it unfolds.

Expect the neighbour island Mada to apply this restriction of being vaccinated as well.

As from 1 September, vaccinated guests will spend only 7 days in a special 'resort bubble' hotel before going out to discover more of the Indian Ocean paradise.

I was actually considering heading to Mauritius to wait for Mada to open, and now apparently I can do that. Only problem is Mauritius is way more expensive and has way less pussy so I don't know if it is worth it. Got to be better than winter in Canada though!

- The borders remain closed for passengers coming from abroad.

- Wearing a mask and respecting barrier gestures are still required throughout the country.

- Indoor gatherings of more than 400 people are prohibited.

In an article of L'Express I did read that Malgache arriving with full vaccination must have a PCR Test but don't need a quarantine.

Foreigners who got stuck there can go to the next immigration office and get their visa extended, just paying the visa fee. 2 of my friends are doing this since March.

Last month when I transit from Addis to Mombasa I heard announcement about flight to Tana boarding now. Ethiopian website already sell tickets to Nosy Be, first flight next week.

If Ethiopian airlines is selling the tickets its not means you can fly. Mada is still close.

Borders open to travelers: Under conditions.

Domestic flights are operational. International flights, previously authorized to enter and exit Nosy Be, are suspended; entry into Madagascar remains prohibited.

Entry is limited to diplomats, technicians working in strategic sectors and officials with special mission orders.

A negative COVID-19 test (PCR and / or serology) is required for entry.

Health screening procedures in place at airports and other points of entry.

Anyone arriving in Madagascar will be tested and should be quarantined for a period of up to 5 days until results are available.

The previous policy of allowing free visa extensions has ended. Currently, people with a tourist visa must purchase a ticket to leave Madagascar, then go to the immigration office or Ivato airport to obtain a stamp allowing them to stay until the date of departure. Their return ticket. Only Air France currently operates extraordinary flights from Madagascar. Please contact Air France to obtain a ticket.

Nice link, thank you. Notably, IMO, health care pros here in the USA are disproportionately "vax hesitant". Those in good health / general population are at extremely low risk for mortality and morbidity can be dramatically reduced by early intervention with drugs like ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine, and some effective anti-inflammatories (eg corticosteroids, respiratory tract meds which I use dexamethasone and montelukast for).

Of course, Fraudci along with Pfizer, J&J, Astrazeneca and Moderna do not want you to know that, especially now that for example Moderna has added about 150 billion in market cap (currently $155 Billion) since the Wu Flu was developed.
