Took a kofifi taxi brousse from Tulear / Toliara to Fianar. Not grand luxe but good enough. Designated seats in a Mercedes Sprinter van. Took 2 seats on the row behind the driver for 30 k each place. Maybe the real price is 25 k. I had to phone different numbers, one said 25 k the other 30 k. We left around 7:30 and areived around 17:00 in Fianar.

I stayed at hotel Soratel conveniently located at 500 meter from the TB station and 250 meter from the train station. 64 k / night light breakfast included. Baths with hot water and good water pressure. The hotel is nothing special but it did the job for me.

The city has a good running semi-public bus service with numbers indicating where they go to, 400 AR anywhere you go to within the city.

I didn't know where to start so I asked a taxi driver to bring me to 'where the girls are walking outside'. He brought me to a crossing at about 750 meters from hotel Soratel. 10 SW's huddled together. You can't see very much but don't be intimidated. I walked to it and back in the dark 3 times never had a problem.

The girls are standing in front of Club Jax. Club Jax is a real club but is also a brothel. In the back they have have rooms. They are opened every day of the week except on mondays. Then SW's are an ecclectic mix. Some are ugly, some are fat, some are old but I also saw an absolute 9. She was gorgeous slim, young, long legged and dancing as if she was performing in a Michael Jackson video.

The club is probably not going to be to everyones liking. The atmosphere is a bit icy but I believe it is safe. It got talking to a guy who looked like a real hoodlum 115 kilos, sporting a huge afro. Actually he was the owner and a nice guy. His name is Nurah he's half Malgache and half French / Indian. Speaks perfect French, went to expat schools and studied in LE Reunion. Explained to me he and his coworkers are constantly scanning the place keeping the rif raf out. I was getting p*ssed with Nurah and I couldn't be bothered with the SW's anymore so I decided to walk home. I get lost. Where is my hotel? Suddenly I see a couple walking in my direction. She walks away from him and latches herself on to me. No French at all but she is doable. 40 k I say, ok. Good fuck, good service levels, no problem in the morning.

Next to club Jax there is a ST hotel with a bar restaurant and a couple of sex workers inside. Entry is through the bar. The SW I saw where second tier.

Sophia dance club: Went on a Monday. It was empty. According to the waitress it only gets busy thursdays to sundays. Als a couple of SW's outisde. Didn't see anything that caught my eye.

I think the city is generally safe. Watch out at night for the man holes you see here on every other corner.

I was staying in Hotel Mini Croq https://goo.gl/maps/k3qSSR754WBTae5Q9 its very central you will be surrounded by food options. Its cheap hotel but good.

Many small hole in the walls bars with girls. In fact walk from hotel and say Hi To Taxi drivers they will tell you the best places.

No need puspus there I was walking everywhere. I was in Jan and the roads becomes river.

Accommodation: Unless you really like to stay right besides Tahiti IMHO Diamant is really run down.

Stayed 2 nights in La Bella Donna 100 k for a room in the back 120 k for a room straight at the beach. Good service levels. Nice property. I don't like though how they try to flog you their own 'excursions' and at the same time try to scare you away from competitors by claiming that they are scammers. They will also propose you their own 'house' masseuse on the beach for 30 k. At the end of my stay she was offering me a massage for 10 k instead of the proposed 30 k.

The massage girls wasn't really what I wanted so in the evening I decided to hit the clubs as I had read here that club Blu was the place to be. Was a bit of a disappointment. Mangily is a small place and the Blu is a village club with many 14-15 year olds. Ordered a beer and got talking with 2 local women. Took one of them with me but she was actually a bit too heavy for my liking. Next day I had to checkout from La Bella Donna as they where sold out. Ended up at Chez Daniel. Rooms 30 k, actually a hut with a bucket and a hole in the floor to shower with a communal toilet outside. No electricity no running water. At night they provide you with a bulb light connected to a battery.

For my next leg I needed to go to the taxi brousse station in Tulear. I found out that the locals pay 3000 for TB or shared Babaj from Mangily to Tulear or vice versa. That is the real price.

When you walk at night on the beach in Mangily and you hear waves and see the hundreds of stars in the sky you realise Mangily is a special place. You should do that with a woman and there is a chance you will not find one here (you like). So better prepare yourself and come with a girl from Tulear.

Don't listen to the naysayers. I spent 2 months in Mangily in 2015. I've never seen a more beautiful southern Star night sky in my life as there is zero light and other pollution. I always shagged the same 10 massage girls. I stayed at Chez Suzie. Spacious Bungalows for 400.000 AR a month. No running water no electricity. I got the worst shits like three weeks on end from the so called good beach restos. Stay away from them. Stick to the gargottes.

I always went to sebans and bar bleu. Who needs more. I charged my laptop at the beach. There was a very fat US female diving instructor there. I don't know if she's still around runs also a pizzeria and a dive shop.

Its take time to find out the real price for Babaj / Taxi / PusPus for beginners but once you figure it out you will always refuse to pay more. If you ready to accept a dual pricing scheme you will encourage some sort of corruption which can be expanded further.

For Mangily, I took a girl from Toliara and we both didn't like the place. No stable Electricity? No thanks.

Near life and death struggles over 30 cents with barefoot bicycle taxi kid! What amazing adventures!

From Morondava to Tulear: sit in a cargo van (I. E. Taxi brousse) backtracked 10 hours all the way to Antisarabe, then another all-day cargo van ride back south to Tulear.

What, no boutres, runs down the west coast? You know, one of those adventure like things to do.

And its the wrong time of the year as its already start of the rainy season. And while we're at it. I haven't heard of any amazing adventures of yours as of late. And if you backtracked that sounds like bad planning. Right now the Camion Brousse goes up to Manja. When the river is flooded thats it. You backtrack....LOL. Like a mate of mine. He did Fort Dauphin to Tulear in the rainy season by Camion brousse. It took him 3. 5 weeks. He had to walk days on end besides the camion to lighten the load. Otherwise they would get stuck again. Only DRC is worse.

A note to the pousse drivers in Antsirabe. This is the worst lot I came across in Madagascar..

Antsirabe is a tourist city so to get it for 500 you need some experience I agree.

You next destination is Toliara the puspus price there is 500 even for beginners.

I wanted to book my ticket out of this town. But then again. Things turned out different. That's why its called adventure. I went again to the same resto. Good food. Big draft. Then I went to another total gasy karaoke joint. I ordered a THB PM and voila. In front of me. Two unattached gasy chicas. One cotiere with dark features and nice boobs and a tiny Imerina chica with beautiful face nice ass and slim. I was smiling. They were smiling. Less than a minute later I sat on their table. In these gasy joints there's always some girls for takeout apparently. The locals pay around 15.000 AR for pussy. We had fun they were singing karaoke. Then my chica wanted to know if she can join me at my hotel. One drunk gasy A. LE tried to interject. Get off my back.

Time to move back to my hotel with my prey. I spent a sweet night. Got a good BBBJ with including soft licking of my balls. I had a good DATY which send her over the edge.

A night well spent. In the morning I slipped 40.000 AR in her pocket. A real sweetie pie.

A note to the pousse drivers in Antsirabe. This is the worst lot I came across in Madagascar. There is thousands of them. At daytime they accept the standard fare of 2000 without batting an eylid. Although watch out for the waiting game again. Always be clear and say no. After nightfall they turn into zombies. When I took the pousse back to Diamant I told the guy loud and clear 3000 AR. When we arrived a gave him 3000 which he accepted. When I started to move away he started shouting dix mille. Ya sure. Fat chance. I just ignored him and he fucked off. Last time it was a different story as this guy caught me for "waiting time". Never again. Why should he wait. There is 100's of pousse drivers in the night. A pousse driver is almost on the bottom of the food chain. Only a street beggar is below him. These are poor people who most of the time don't even own the pousse. They have to pay a fixed rental fee. So I don't blame them to pull a fast one on the vazaha. Always make sure you have enough 2000 and 1000ar notes in your pocket!

As to this naysayer who contributed nothing of value for years on the Madagascar forum. Yes. I write how it is. I just could have omitted having overpaid. Who gives a rats ass. If I feel I donate 10.000 AR to a pousse driver it's none of your business. I consider it a charitable contribution. In Africa you're a walking ATM as vazaha / obroni / muzungu / Oyibo / toubab.

I remember that I had one quite cute even in Isalo, about mid way between Fiana and Tulear. Where I spent two nights in Ranohira, stayed Chez Alice, nice place and good food, but had the help of my trek guide to meet her, may be the only one there?? And she was not happy with 20 k if I remember well.

Antsirabe and Fianar are good if you are looking for a virgin Merina or Betsileo girl to marry you. For everything else it s useless. Of course some guys will tell you they had the best shag of their life or they found a gem in the ugly SWs. That's BS. Just skip it Albert.

Then the next cheeky bastard who took me me to Vaki. I gave him 5000. He said he's going to wait (and there's the catch!) Of course he waits. Asshole. I said I don't give a. F. k. Again after I went back to Tahiti I used him again. BAD mistake. On arrival he hit me for 10.000 AR for "waiting time"?!#@*

You have following possibilities:

You give him a good smack right in his face which probably lands you in jail.

You pay and show him the middle finger.
