If you want to visit Taxi Be, there is a brand new 3-stars hotels 20 meters away on the same lane. 60/ night but worth every penny.

It seems the police checkpoints are back in business. That's why I never bother with Taxi Be. I went in there twice. But I managed to sneak past la Police. And if the weather is bad and later on they're gone. I usually call it an early night. There is sweet girls everywhere. No need to hang out until 2 o'clock in the morning. And right besides Manson there is accommodation. Upstairs at no comment bar. I have been checked by La Police a couple of times but never paid anything.

But I'll land on isle rouge in 5 days.

Yup. I confirm police is back in town and they have a few months without revenues to catch up, so be careful. I know it's easier.

Left Tana for now, I didn't pay it but there is a 20 k charge per night for double occupancy at select hotel.

I think Manson is the best spot though I find some can be rude in there when you turn them down or decline to buy them a drink.

BNI bank and sociate general both take mastercard no fees.

Took 72,000 return cotisse bus to tamatave from tana, I booked a few days in advance took 9 hours.

Stayed at flamboyant hotel 60 k for room with A/Cand balcony, room has seen better days but everything works.

La terrace. Good food, maybe 10 or so girls in the back on a weekday evening. Weekend evening 20 or so in there. They start moving elsewhere close to 11 pm.

Taxi be. Walked down here and it was closed. A girl later told me the police have closed it down.

Queens. This is a walk down the road from la terrace in the other direction to taxi be. On a weekday this was quite empty had about 10-15 girls and a few guys by 11 pm, though no other clubs open apparently. Weekend bit busier but still quite empty, some girls seemed to come for one drink after terrace and move on.

New York New York. Saw only a few of the worse girls from Queens in here and then just locals and tourists. 10 k entry.

Pandora. Big place loads of girls, lots from terrace and queens moved on to here. Beers only 4 k too. It's a bit further out than the other places, police checkpoint on the way.

There are a few street walkers on the road between la Terrace and queens.

Paid 50 k for the night here.

Paid 1 k for tuk tuks during the day 2 k per person at night or 5 k taxi at night.

Prefer it here to Tana, less choice and tana is busy even on weekdays but the whole place is more relaxed, girls seem more chill and they have more African features which I prefer.

Thanks for the mission update. Heading to Tamatave on Wednesday. Booked on Cotisse Premium riding in style. I heard of TB in Tamatave being closed already. Which is a bit of a pain in the neck as Pandora is far and have to run the police gauntlet. But I have a waiting list on Afro of eager 19 to 20 year old Betsimisiraka chicas already.

My expat contacts told me a hilarious story. Apparently due to the recent visit of the pope they pulled all the licenses of Discotheques being dens of prostitutions. LOL. So all the places were closed down temporarily until they changed their licenses to bars. Hahahaha. Why Taxi Be in Tamatave hasn't reopened I don't know. I liked it for the convenience but at that time last year pandora was closed. So maybe somebody paid to keep Taxi Be closed as before Pandora was the premier discotheque....

Back to Isle rouge at last. The long haul Air France deposited me on time. Immigration flawless efficient. Paid 40 Euros for 60 days on arrival. Sort out extension later. Hotel prices are up in Tana. Practically nowhere less than 75 k. Rest remains the same. Although some glacier girls want to maximize profits. Case in point donated 60 k. Betsimisiraka girl asked for a 10 k tip on TOP. Ok. My fault didn't negotiate in advance. Glacier is rocking. All there. Getting on the [CodeWord140] right now on THB. Screw Sexprison.

Don't feel bad about paying bribes. In fact I paid a couple of times in Senegal. What I refuse to pay silly money. I tip like 1 to 2 euros. I consider it a tip for the poor bugger of police man who sometimes doesn't get paid for months on end and has a family to feed. On top of his meagre salary he has the real chance of getting killed in the line of duty by armed cattle rustlers or bandits. You did well by standing your ground and refuse to pay silly money though. For me I make it a game to sneak past police checkpoints. They are usually at the same spot mostly choke points. I could write a book about bribes.

Absolutely. There are NO police checkpoint in Tana anymore, neither by day or night. It's a big relief for expats.

If you saty some time in Tana, I prsonnaly don't like Ville Haute as it's noisy by night, dirty, expensive and heavily polluted.

Best neighborhood is Ivandry, far away.

Near LE Glacier, try Faravohitra or Ambandy.
