Why anyone would travel anywhere to stay in a dump of a hotel is beyond my understanding. OK, they either have no money or that's their comfort zone. For combination of comfort quality at moderate value: in bas ville, Central Hotel. In Haute Ville, Tana Hotel. Viewing the other day, the 3 new hotels across the street from LE Glacier, if you can accept a windowless room, you might like it there. The better and quieter rooms in the back get taken first. But, what's the point of being so close to LE Glacier? Better to stay in Haute ville, walk down the steps by day, or 5 minute taxi after nightfall.

Probably Sole is a good bet too. Relais has also bigger and smaller rooms. The disadvantage is maybe that its relatively far from Glacier. Having said that. I never had a problem walking as there is plenty of guards around. Haven't tried to take 2 girls though. Pricewise its the cheapest hotel Downtown. Except a few ST Hotels I surveyed.

It is funny how everyone has a different opinion on the same places. For what it's worth, I stayed at Sole 2 years ago and was underwhelmed to say the least. Small room, shit TV (standard everywhere) Wifi sucked and the outside is blacker than Toby's ass. There are no places to eat and drink nearby and the piece de resistance. The fucking restaurant is vegetarian!
New Select varies a lot. My first stay there was fine. Nice room, good Wifi, staff were friendly and the bed was comfy, not to mention it is 50 metres away from Glacier. I had the first room next to the stairs and did not have any issue with noise from other guests. The next time I was at the end of the hall. The room was smaller (too small) and the Wifi signal was shite. Not bad for 70 K if you get room 101. Having said that I am always open to new / better places and will probably try something different next time.

So all in all, hotel Artistes is a good option, 75 k and safe room. Amazing restaurant always full lunch and dinner. But only 6 rooms easily fully booked.
Glacier hotel pretty old, 65 k but not that good quality I have to say.

Hey Neddy,
I will be in Tana soon for s 2 days stopover and of course I want to be based close to Glacier. I was at hotel Artistes but rooms are small and dark, the New Select better room but is a noisy brothel at night!
Any advise and price range?
Thanks.

Dont forget the tropical thunderstorms called cyclones. They are like the hurricanes in the carribbean. Nosy Be gets rarely hit. It pays to watch the hurricane advisory. I had already a tropical system brewing in November but fizzled out. That said the most rain is received North and East. Driest Southwest like Tulear.

Hi everyone,
Thanks a lot to each of you for reporting such interesting contents.
My question is about the weather in the country.
On multiple website, people agreed to say it's very rainy from 01/12 to 31/03.
Some people said it only rains during the night for this period.
If you guys can relate what is actually the truth about weather, I would appreciate a lot.
I'm planning to go to Nosy Be (following Neddy's experience) during March or after.
Thanks a lot.

Well. Christmas came early this year guys. WTF. After a flawless flight with Taxi Brousse de l Air I touched down from sweaty Nosy Be to cool and dry Tana. Rode in style to my crib near Gare Soarano. Dumped my stuff and went to Glacier. Hey its Saturday night. Loads of expired Hardware around as usual. Some being picked up by touriste de sexe francais. Ugly broads. Wouldnt touch with a pole. But la Buse takes his pick as usual. There were exactly 2 doable semipros around. Voila. Short spinner with good tits shaking her ass against my crotch giving me an instant boner. But alas je fatigue. A friendly turkish engineer donated me something you cant get in Madagascar. A vero puro cubano Partagas numero 4 Series D. One of my favourite Coronas. So I puffed away. Heaven. Next morning Sunday. In the morning I already had 5 possibilities just by walking around. But mostly expired uglies. Hey they waved down from the balcony when I did my patrol down Rue Benyovsky. O lala.
After a rest I went to Glacier again around 1800. The usual collection of uglies and destitute vazahas slurping on their THB. After gulping down a coke. Time to check the SW scene. Or so I thought. After walking about 80 meters from Glacier I was hit from behind. Tight Coast Spinner from FD attached herself to me. WTF. Perfect body. Vamos promenade avec mois a l Hotel pour fair l amour. Je t aime Madagascar. After relaxing and shower I had two Sessions which I rate top 10 of all times. After Lyonnaise Dining at the Y. Two riding sessions ensued. In between we were watching the major presidential debate of the 2 contenders. I dumped 2 loads. Who needs little helpers if you have a red hot dripping malagasy pussy besides you. I'll share my christmas present with you. She ll come again tomorrow a keeper. Where else can you find a sweet semipro for 50.000 ariary.
Neddy
Who missed most of the presidential debate on TV. Anyway I dont speak malagasy.
