What you mean by a shit hole, is the town dirty? I read 20 pages of posts and this is the first negative one about Tamatave. Since I planned to get there after my arrival in Tana and stay at least a month can you expand your comment and clarify why is dark and hostile?

You been to Cebu before. Jakosalem at night is more scary then Cite 67 Ha in Tana (the poor man's quarter). Its all relative. Go figure. Just apply your smart-traveller alerts, bring a copy of passport AND visa with you, take a taxi back to your hotel if its more then 5 min walk with your fille. Just be polite, smile. And you will gain friends.

But then. What for staying in Tana a month if not business related?? Mada got better places for our hobby!

Looking at my high resolution photos the boulevard looks very clean. But the outer perimeter may be a different story. Some seriously good food in town. Nice service but boring and not good lookers girls.

Big mistake going to Tamatave I would advise Mahagenga instead although hot as hell and not very inspiring as well.

Tamatave has numerous bars with hard core girls that I would touch them with a Gopro pole. When the evening starts better many characters around so you need to go directly to your destination. In two days you will beg to "Air Mad" representative to put you on the first plan away. Then he will tell you that flights are fully book and you are actually fucked. Welcome to Gotham City a big slum.

Now, so where to go in Mada? Honestly I have no idea since Mada lost the charm and even Anthala is not attractive despite of the fact that every girl is available. They don't look sexy and the infrastructure are not well there.

I have visit in September Tamatave and the entire Vanila coast but after two week I begged for get a ticket to Thailand. Tomorrow actually I will be in Phuket and then to the Philippines.

If you insist for Africa I would try South Madagascar, Get a good hotel on the beach for 10 days and leave Mada. When you in Mada always have plan be and see, you will need it. For sexy babes go to Tanzanya or Diani beach in Kenya. (Kim Kardashian style killer bodies).

The forum is actuality about providing information rather then asking question at all. Most of the guys who tend to ask do not travel there anyway. Very specific query that never discuses is a different matter.

Sambava has electricity around the clock. Sometimes the entire vanilla coast has power cut with different pattern weekends only, daytime etc. But most of the time electricity is there. You got bad timing that all.

I already said I stayed at Pierre's Villa (and put it on tripadvisor). Where are these other restaurants? Villas food mostly good (Orchidea more consistent though) fish was little dry actually sometimes. But beer cold, and conviviality quite good, yes. So, when was your stay, exactly? There was electricity out everyday first half of October there, and Antalaha also no power. Orchidea has a generator which they refused to run, saying it was too noisy and only for real emergency (like cyclone) so people very accustomed to no power. Glad to have visited. Once.

If you want to be helpful and give information, rather than bring up Pattayas, LA or wherever, simply state facts about Sambava, such as no electricity from 1 am Until 10 am Or later. Or where are these great restaurants. As for comparison, rather then NYC, put Sambava in context with other place having big beach, like Tamatave or Nosy Be. Does this make any sense to you, from a realism standpoint.

She is the one with red. Again the food its a dream and you feel at home there assuming you have the right personality to join the group and to be generous.

Tamatave is a shit hole forget about it, dark and hostile batman style. Sure nothing to do in Sambava if you can not manage to get a girlfriend but take your time and initiate street / online attacks or go to Antalaha to get one.
