I'm quite familiar with the "remote" parts of Mada. The question stands, how much of a premium is there in the least remote part of the country, tourism-wise: Nosy Be.

If you talk to the pro's in NB in english, you pay 100. -EU.

If you communicate in french, they will ask for 100.000 MGA.

If you know Malgache and tell her: ho avy lele, tsara. You get away with 10.000 MGA.

If I would get the choice to visit only one area / city in Madagascar I would always go for Nosy Be. Although I have to admit I haven't been to Tamatave yet. Absolutely have to do that next time.

Can't remember there being a premium. Vazaha rate was 40 k LT in 2019.

Cheap, but most hotels are cheap in Toliara. The swimming pool is ok. The gym. Well. I wouldn't call that garden shed a gym LOL. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger who used to train in pretty raw places in the 60's and 70's wouldn't.

Hotel Recife has only one good room with brand new Aircon and firm Mattress. The entrance to the hotel Gym is 5 K per day or 50 K per month. The hotel is also used as a girls meeting place. Knocking on your door is common. Sweeming pool is very nice but I did not took the "risk" as the water look to me not so clear.

I booked a Room at LE Recife for my trip in October.

Does anyone has Experience with the "normal" Rooms in Recife? Is there warm water with good Pressure? How is the Wifi there? I don't need anything special, but sometimes connecting my notebook for some mails and bookings.

I really didn't want to take a taxi so spent a few minutes researching for airport transfers. Just pure pain when one finds out adema was shut down in 2018 but still operates in every other airport but ivato. You don't have the luxury to choose a tuktuk in tana. Its either on pied 3 h, 15 km, taxi be or taxi. Taxi be it is. 186 to 67 ha parking, from there ligne the to airport. I just bought two seats for me cause big luggage and girl came with me too. I let a bus tout escort my bag to search free places in a correct bus. Tipped him 1 k for that. I wouldn't have minded doing it myself but him telling others to piss off so I can get the seats and seeing him balancing my 20 kg of luggage on his head was well worth it. 3 k plus 1 k tip.

Hotel homelidays 500 m from airport 55 k was ok. Owner speaks German. Yes hotel elite (no Wi-Fi) for 15/20 k or motel baobab at 25 k would have been slightly cheaper if you don't mind looking for a taxi at 30 k. I can't bc I don't even want to look at them and I value hotels more than convenience of transportation. Imagine leaving shoprite, hotel or any restaurant and getting harassed, hands on my bag or my shoulder the millisecond I exit quoting horrendous sums for what a distance doable on pied or taxi be.

Had my last shags with the sweet Merina until a group of other guests went to airport so I grouped up with them. Felt weird leaving the girl crying and somewhat comforting her joking around with good memories we had together in the 45 days I had her. Needless to say I was super happy with her. Can you imagine not one single drama occurred. I'm serious at the most I gave a two minute speech about few things which always ended fine and brought improvement.

Being home after two months I expected reverse culture shock but I just felt good driving on nice roads thinking want to go back mada. Preferably with Turkish tho.
