I will arrive in Tana on the 18th of August, for an organized trip of 10 days along the Tsihiribina river up to Morondava. Then starting on 26 August I will travel alone, may be 1 day more in Morondava and after I plan to join TulAR by ground transport. EIther via Tana again, or if possible via Fiana more directly. Then I plan to stay some days in TulAR and above toward Ifaty, Mangily. Not sure of where is Mangily, but my understanding is that its located around Ifaty?
And on the 8th of Sep I have a flight to Tana and back to France.

If you don't mind can you tell me what country you applied for your e visa from? I am currently in Canada and for some reason nothing on the home page is active. Clicking on Apply or register does nothing. Or am I missing something obvious? This could potentially save me an hour in the immigration line. Thanks for any feedback.

I'm considering a first trip to Madagascar.

I need to go somewhere where I can post on Facebook lots of pictures of me diving or on the beach to give a plausible reason why I am there. Nose Be seems like the best place for me to go.

My only concern is that it seems to be dominated by French and Italian speaking tourists. As I am an English only speaker will I be able to communicate my requirements and prices with the girls online and in the clubs / beaches?

Many girls on AfricaIntroductions list some English but they are all at the larger cities, not the beachside towns.

Are there any other areas that have diving and girls readily available?

Try Diego Suarez in the north. Also called Antsiranana. Has Ramena Beach nearby, and you can take a boat trip for the day to the Emerald sea. Decent selection of girls in that town too.

I found that some of the girls in Madagascar had pretty poor French (and no English). I suppose if you learn all the numbers and how to say "how much" in French then that is all you need.

I speakFfrench at a basic level but I can run a conversation well. I never negotiate price in Mada and let me give few examples of my last trip 6 month ago. Anthalaha girl her French was at basic level as I can speak way better. Took her to a photo shoot on the beach then eating some crap soup as this is what I found. Then 2 hour sex and another photo session in room. When she go she ask some money and gave her 7 K then she was asking 10 K. Anyway she came every day.

Sambava girl, actually from a village 2 hours north of Sambava. Met her and her mother on weekend at the Sambava beach. She speak nice French and look city girl never asked nothing but cost me the most as I felt serious about her and already saw the entire family few times. No negotiation, she dream to get married with Vhazza.

Tana-one girl from Badoo they are semi pro but when you look deep into it there is an option for seriousness with SOME. Not all. One girl asked me next day 40 K after full day and night. Why to negotiate on such a ridiculous amount of money. 40 K is a joke.

Tana hotel stuff- after one day she ask to give something without mentioning the amount. Gave her 30 K. Was happy. The reason why I like Tana is that some girls are white as this hotel stuff.

You have good tactic mate! I was negotiating the price just with pros at glacier, mansoon at antananarivo and at quenns and la terrasse at tamatave. If I find girls at dating sites or at street I just give them 20000-30000 ariary for short time or 40000-50000 ariary for all night and they was happy and no complain.

True!

English is not my mother tongue. But I did learn it. So I did French. So I did BahasaIndonesia. Why you english-focused guys can't learn another language? At least make an effort by learning say some 100 words and simple sentences. Otherwise go there as guided group tourist only but forget about our hobby then.

I gave up becasue of that reason on mongering in Brazil or even in Ukraine. Only hardened Pro's will speak some english. But not the sweet country girls. That refers to Mada also.

Yes I agree with you. If you speak even just little bit same language as girls in any country you will have better chance to find best girls and have chemistry.

I want to party and not have to deal with the cops on the taxi ride back to the hotel. Can someone confirm the name of the hotel next to Manson? Is it LE Riad, may have changed name to La Medina??

Other hotel within walking distance from Manson (safe for short walk at night)?

Riad, yes. But if you look for nice appartements, try Harisoa. 200 m to the left once you leave Manson. https://www.harisoa.com/.

Or the Belvedere Hotel, same direction and distance. A bit more upclass then the Riad.

Just be aware: Manson gets buzzing for a few hours only: midnight to 3 am. There are other places to fill the void. But then you need a cab.

Thanks Brasil for all the on the ground information. Exactly what this forum needs. Also a shout out to Amadeuss's earlier update full of knowledge that will help any Mada monger. I will be visiting late August, will use some of your tips and provide some of my own. Cheers guys.

I met a really nice taxi driver in Toliara who speaks very recent English and of course French too. He did an outstanding job bringing me to Mangily and showing me the different lodging options. And of course for translating for me.

So if anyone is or going to Toliara and need a good trusted driver who understand English then send me a message and I'll share the contact.

He even stopped in the way so I can get a girls number.

Depending on what I will find I will adapt my stay in Tulear. If I can manage the flight back to Tana.
