Posts: 499News from LE Monde about flights between France and Madagascar
Here an article in french about issues between air France and air Madagascar, but it is also said that there were regular flights from Madagascar to Paris in both ways and both companies, every weeks.
But it is said here that ivato is closed.
Difficult to understand the reality.

Today first tourists arrived. If anybody is there I would be interested in that situation there.

Posts: 984I did read yesterday on L'express de Madagascar that the new terminal on Ivato Airport is under final testing with hired volunteers. One of the major excercises is people management for testing on Covid. It was said once the procedures are confirmed working, they will open that terminal for international flights.
However, a date was not given.

On October 1st, international flights will resume but only to Nosy Be, it will then be "forbidden" to get from Nosy Be to the main island.
"Soon", regional flights will resume, but only to Diego, Tulear, Taolagnaro and Toamasina. Regional means from La Reunion mostly.
EDIT: Sorry, La Buse had already given the same info

Regarding false tests, I also agree fully. When we arrive, the first lane was for tests control. One by one we had to show our phone with the document. The girl was thoroughly checking the document and after some time, if ok, she was saying, ok go to the next check.
But never she checked our passport, so she checked the test without knowing my name.
All doors for falsification are wide open in this case 😁.

Tanzania is OPEN. And that means EVERYTHING.
La Buse.
And with regards to the useless tests. Use a PDF editor. Don't be a fool... Here in TZ they have great customer service. They issue Covid certificates with any specified date. hahaha.
A and if you want to waste your money on overpriced safari sleeping in a tent for a 100 dollars a night. you can do that in Tanzania as well. And you don't have to wear a mask in the bush either. LOL

Posts: 499Yes, this article looks strange, I guess they speak mainly to la areéunion to Madagascar flights, and even conditions to embark are to be checked.
Tanzania seems open as Neddy says, but also Kenya is open. You have been there from 25 of August to 6 of September, from France, via Lufthansa. Plane was full.
Conditions were to get a covid negative test less than 72 h before entry and qr code generated by an app which is a "sur l'honneur questionnaire".
But now, from France, Tests results are given in more than 3 days so impossible to get again to Kenya now.
I was there for Safari, no mongering, but was possible to move in town with mask and there was a curfew every night.

Well the article certainly looks the real deal. If true I would love to take advantage of it but I am leery of making plans for anything regarding travel right now. The timing sucks big time as well. Opening up just in time for rainy / hurricane season.
Who is going to be the first Guinea pig and try it?
