Just returned from a close to 4 weeks trip. At Ivato AirMada office I paid 336 for Tana-Sambava-Tamatave-Tana. Sambava and Anthalaha were a big disappointment. Tamatave was OK and so was Tana. When I have more time, I may write a more extensive report. However, for those who take a broader interest in Mada besides chasing its beautiful girls, I here wish to recommend an English speaking guide, who turned out to be most helpful. I am a prosumer photographer and with this guy I could freely roam and explore many less accessible areas in and around Tamatave. Again, he is not for finding or negotiating sexy girls. But he was a great help to me, he knew a lot and was very pleasant company besides. Of course I paid him (20-40 k per day) and he deserved it! His name is Honor and his phone numbers are 034xxxxx63; 032xxxx40. No commission involved LOL, just information out of gratitude. Good luck!

So I have nothing bad to talk about Mangily but I feel very nice in Toliara city on the sea surrounded with 18 years old girls and all the comfort of the big city.

Last thing my flight to Tana cost me 133 USD at Toliara office. Note that the price is not the same so for example Monday price are 180 usd and two days latter it drop to 130 usd. So the best is to not tell the AirMad agent a specific day to your flight and tell him a week span. He will look for the best price within that week period. Again I paid 133 usd.

One remark about accomodations in Mangily, you can find higfh class room with less than 120 k, I was in Bella Donna, bungalow with balcony on the beach, for 80 k with hot water and quite good wifi around restaurant, but I also had a 30 k sim card from Orange with 5 Gb + 5 Gb free at night, not so bad when wifi was going down or from the room. No generator noise at all as the generator is away from the hotel and huge battery capacity, but full electricity 24/24.

Also cooking was very high class here, but the total cost per day with room + BF / lunch / dinner was about 160 k, but you can easily lower food cost by going around. But agreed its far above your 30 k. For room.

For mosquitoes, yes there are, but some spray was enough to be quiet.

And agreed also, finding nice girls there is not easy, even some Toliara girls are hanging there saying they are on vacation. But thanks for the one you gave coordinates. Toliara far superior for girls, so many hanging around in Amazone area.

Limited cellphone service with data at Ariary (MGA) 25 k (EUR 6. 25) per GB. Air Mada web price TNR-TLE is $296 1-way, so $130 in local sales offices is a true bargain -- but only the market value, in line with low-cost carriers elsewhere. Great tip! We arrived to Mangily but I got pooled out of the TB for passport check in one of the control points. The police saw two stamps, one I got in Ivato and the other was the extension visa. He saw playing stupid to get some bribe but I was laughed and told him that the director of the minister the interior in Tana is a close friend of my and no problem with that visa extension. When he heard that that I know the director he got serious and said that my visa look fine.

Another thing is the beach boys that want to sell you everything from a lobster BBQ to a about trip and this is crazy they will not leave you a minute. Sure you can get a higher class of accommodation a bit out of them but you will pay around 120 k or more to minimize all the limitations I had mentioned.

For me one of the most important things is fast internet connection I need it to my business and to watch movies and youtube. My hotel has no WiFi as no power to any kind of router and I don't know what is the situation for a more expensive establishment as I don't pay those tourist prices.

In toulier I have mentioned watching Netflix as the internet is the fastest in Mada. The reason is simple, Madagascar is connected to the internet network using under sea fiber optic from touliara to Africa. So Toliara is the main internet hub to Mada. To download Netflix movies such as the season two of the 'iron fist' just go to https://www.torrentdownloads.me/ on your laptop and less then two hours latter you get the entire season two in one click.

The best thing for non pro to soften the atmosphere is to play Malagash Music clips on youtube that's why I like to stay in Toliara and we both agreed that one night is probably enough. So we went back.

I know that for many Mangily is a dream and my limitations are a non issue but don't forget that Toliara is a big city and there are 100 times more selection of girls, Fast internet in room good food and a cold breeze from the sea. Hotel Sud plazza is directly on the sea and sometimes I use blanket as this is better then the best Aircon.

So I have nothing bad to talk about Mangily but I feel very nice in Toliara city on the sea surrounded with 18 years old girls and all the comfort of the big city.
