Verget sakamanga. Sole is great. You can watch the girls from your window. The rooms are great for tana. To sakamanga its only 1 block away. 2 minutes walk if you go straight. But if you watch the girls on the way, maybe you never come to sakamanga. Hehehehe.

Go to eat to sakamanga but not to stay in the hotel. Maybe girls there are not alowed. But I never try.

St antoine is a good place too, just 3 houses up to sakamanga and less rate. (15€) mostly fully book. Girls no problem.

Good info! Are hotels checking for age (presumably >18) as well as the photo? Solé Hotel (Internet rate) is €28 (MGA 75,000) vs. Sakamanga €24 -- very reasonable for a national capital.

Are the cops really interested to see the tourist's actual passport? I'm happy to carry it if that's the law.

Did you sense more poverty and economic desperation in 2010 than in 2009?

Compared to 2008 when I last visited Madagascar and had the police check me for my passport repeatedly, this time neither I or my friend was ever stopped by the police so the worries a year ago that the police would crack down on sextourists seem exaggerated.

We went to Morondava after that and I must say that it was far too hot being there in late March, and the nightclub My lord became awfully hot when packed with lots of people inside. Lots of young beautiful women there though and they seemed very pleased with 20000 ariary for a night.

i didn't say it was an "improvement", bro, just another safe but relatively expensive option. the chinese will never control tsaralalana or the clubs, so don't fret over the freelancer market.

Agree. When I was there for 3 weeks, I only got stopped 1 time, riding my motocycle from Ambataloka to Hell Ville without a helmet.
