There is no bad place in this country for finding poor girls who could use some of your money. The only issue is how much of a threshold you have for being bored out of your mind for most of the time. The guy here a while back who said, 'you will be wandering around like a stray dog' said it best.

Some massage joints near Ivato that I've explored, with satisfaction. Nice, small hotels are also abundant, but I can't imagine hanging out in / near Ivato for more than a night or 2. Very good Thai restaurant, Korean too. But it's a transit location, not a destination in my experience.

Diego comes alive at night, but will seem VERY quiet and laid back during the day. Khat consumption after mid-day everywhere, lots of chilling. Plenty of small bars and "restaurants", but most vazahas haunt the joints along Rue Colbert. Lots of cheap food stalls all over the place on the side streets. There are many inexpensive OK hotels in town (50 K or less), including some along the Colbert strip; a couple of quickie joints too -- try Fian Tsylaka for a 15 K shortstay one street over from Colbert. Nonpros also abound, but take a little patience to cultivate -- clerks, hairdressers, waitresses, encounters in the SCORE supermarket, eye contact on the Colbert stroll. Taxi Be has a decent mix of pros, semi-pros, and some nonpro gals out for a good time. By midnight, head to New Bar, Nouvel Hotel club or maybe Boite Noir -- great selection on weekends. Hard core pros throughout the day at Vahinee (but sometimes a nice surprise even there). But if you are looking for freebies, you will be disappointed. Malagasy women expect "gifts" for sex and companionship; it's the norm. 30-40 K is often enough. Diego isn't the "brousse", so cheap lingerie won't cut it.

I tried to follow an advice about ivato with hotel ocanis and I couldn't stay there more than half an hour. Sinister, nothing to eat, no way out, I can't understand what to do around here.

Surely I was not ready to be there, or may be I was in the wrong place, maybe you could detail more where to stay in ivato?

Listen to me very carefully I never mention hotel Ocanis I have no idea why you go there. They charge 120 k and nothing around it. Go to "Manoir Rouge" hotel https://goo.gl/maps/syRzxENbtoC2 price starting at 55 k but they have apartments for longer stay. It's fantastic place. If anyone interested in a real office girls and eager MILFs forest fruits and fantastic food just thing out of the box and follows the expert. Once again the expert comes out with some blanket statement that is just not true. I will say upfront that I like Diego so I may be a little biased, but you will not see any big difference in quality of food or hotels in Diego compared to the other cities scattered around the country. He colours everything with what sort of time he had. If there is not a sufficient number of non pros then the place is shitty by (his) definition. As he said you will see soon. I am betting you will do fine.

As for Ivato. I have spent several nights there going through on different occasions and it is the last place I would want to be spending 2 weeks. Give it a try Neddy. I would love to hear a second opinion!

I would also be interested in what's up in ivato. Is it save there or a no go area during night time? Which places you can recommend? Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, Nightclubs etc. Ivato might be interesting if you want to fligh anywhere or maybe for your last day. All I heard was, that one Hotel next to the airport was to much expensive and worse facilities. Told by a tourist who waits there for a domestic flight next day. All that I saw when I pass ivato looks very poor and not like a welcoming place.

If you like spearfishing in a barrel for non pro and fantastic food for 3.5 K then go to IVATO. High concentration of restaurants, office girls etc. This is my next vacation just walking distance from the airport. I was there for 2 weeks.

I ve been to Tulear and I spent 2 month in Mangily. So obviously people have different opinions about places. I for my part don't need to stream broadband movies. When I have the southern Star sky above me. The sound of waves and a sweet chica in my simple bungalow without running water or electricity.

I think I ll like Diego. There is Khat and Swahili speakers. And the beach parties in Ramena on the weekends. And old WW2 bunker installations. And beautiful Sakalava chicas.....

So different priorities.

Yes. You can get laid in Tamatave. But for a number of reasons it will not be my favourite place in Mada. Tamatave is a good option if you want to escape the chilly highlands and do not want to fly domestic. Than T. Is your nearest option on the shore. Tamatave is also more expensive than other cities. But. Still dirt cheap. You ll find good food. For breakfast highly recommended Adam and Eve. Lunch I went often to La Terasse. For upscale dining try La Maison. Accommodation. I slept in Eden Hotel. But besides from being dirt cheap and offers hot showers and a big balcony the rest is rather dingy. But only 150 m from Taxi Be. Try the Anjary. Excellent value for money.

The chicas. Good selection. But to get topshelf nonpros you need to be very lucky or be a resident. But good semi and pro selection. Prices. I consider T. The second most expensive city after Tana. All is there.
Hunting venues. I really went to Taxi Be. Other clubs New York and Pattaya. But didn't go. Pandora should be good when it reopens on Oct. 26th.
To the north you have Hotel 501 with a decent beach but no facilities. And you can't swim there. So for beach lovers its foulpointe 60 km to the north. For me too far. But there is a decent Olympic Swimming pool at Miramar Hotel. Not much to do during day time. But that's a general Problem in all Mada Towns. For 14 days ok.
Now back in Tana. Tomorrow flight to Diego.

I am in Nosy Be so let me report in real time!

I confirm the place to be for mongering is Ambatoloaka, the short street with bars and restaurants will provide good food and nice girls. My feeling is that they are all super pro's, but it's expected in such a touristy place. Rates for long time and short time are matching what has been mentioned few times in this thread, so just confirming that the season is low here in terms of tourist (90% of foreigners are retired French / Italians / etc around 60/70 years old.), but girls are still holding the position! .

I'm not an expert. But in general 99% should be guest friendly. Online I found that at Nosy Be hotel Gerard and hotel Francine are not guest friendly or don't allow local girls. Nosy Be is the main spot for tourism in Madagascar. There are also couples. So don't book there. These information is about three years old it could change. At Nosy Be I would ask before booking, try to book a small hotel and book for two persons.

70.000 was exceptional. Once. Most 50.000 to 60.000 for full night. Ariary dropped last week to 4100. But back to 3900. Also price for Pousse now 1000 and Tuktuk 2000. There is cheaper places in Mada. There is money in the port. Plus a lot of expats in the mines drive the price. People have money here. Lots of scooters.

Thats very interesting to read your reports, no doubt you are far more experienced than me, 1st time in Mada and quite 1st time real monger experience on the ground. But before going there I did lot of RTFF through all the mada posts and also other locations and this was a tremendous help.

Then I went on the ground. I will try here to summarize all my extra expenses.

Morondava:
- massage without extras 25 k, but nice masseuse, gave her phone but no news after.
- Patricia and her friend met in the street, paid some beer and meal 20 k, then both came to hotel, about 2 hours doing FS to both, nice exp 40 k.
- girl met in the street, came to room soon, 1 h30 with FS, 20 k.

Tana:
- MP lalana russia street, anna, +FS 60 k.
- hotel serena massage + FS 45 k.
- hotel serena massage + FS other masseuse 80 k (too much paid I guess).

Isalo Ranohira:
- my guide introduced me a girl, came to room, 1 h, 20 k but she was not happy.

Mangily:
- beach masseuse everyday, massage + FS in the room facing the beach, very GFE, 20 k each time, met her 4 times, 30 k last time.
- same masseuse came with a friend of her, both did massage + FS, 25 k each.
- Tina met in the street, full night in my room, 20 k (not enough I guess).

Tulear:
- Tina same as in Mangily 2 days before, met in front GastroPizza, paid 20 k for her young friend (12 yo) meal and some drinks for us, came again for full night 60 k to buy a robe.

Tana:
- MP lalana russia same masseuse anna, 55 k.
- Valerie, met in LE Glacier, one full afternoon, 60 k.

Nota: MP in Lalana Russia gave a standard massage for 25 k, so the totals includes the tip for FS, and Anna was so beautiful. And sweet.

Which give an extra 170 Euros for all these entertainments during all my stay, about 2 weeks.

This shows that prices can vary from places, based on your reports also, and I think also that I have been a bit cheap charlie sometimes. But usually I never discussed prices before, except for massages may be, and the price agreed was 10 k for 1 HR for "massage", means normal massage (good one and she gave it each time before action), so I gave 10 k more for FS after massage. For others just gave a bill in the purse after, sometimes I got some unhappy comments but very few.

Difficult to not think coming there again.

And may be I could be slightly less cheap charlie.

Seems the inflation is killing the advantage on the exchange rate.

May this year: exchange rate was 3300 for the EU. LT in Tamatave was about 40.000. Only some crazy ones in TaxiBe quoted 100 but would go for 60.

Now excange rate 3900 for the EU and LT 70.000 ?

At the end still ok and not much to play cheap charlie but have a happy pute in the sack.
