Who needs power? A/C Take a bungalow right at the ocean you will almost always have a breeze cool you down. Open the wooden shutters. A Standing fan will do for me fine. Funny enough. The old colonials knew how to build. Case in point. Hotel Central in Tulear. High ceilings. 1 st floor. Big shady balconies. Overhanging roofs providing shade.
Fridge ?. Like in the good ol days Tulear still has an ICE factory. Even in Mangily Ice blocks are delivered to you door. So you can enjoy an iced Libertalia before retiring with your chica.
Charge my Smartphone take a good quality foldable solar panel plus a 10.000 mAh Power Pack. I have a Netbook with 10 hrs battery life. At night I take it to a joint with a generator and charge it there while I hv my ice cold THB there. Lights are usually provided by solar charged LED lamps available locally everywhere. Plus I carry my battery powered LED headlamp anywhere I go. To travel in Africa you have to adjust. Africa will not adjust to your needs. My 2 cents. All others stay in Pattaya.

I do the same. I am pretty cheap but will always spend enough for a hotel with a generator, especially in hot places. The only place I have stayed that didn't have one was Sambava. They had a tiny one that they only used for refrigerating their food and drink.

Color doesn't matter as soon as the pussy is pink.

French food is fine in Mada not local food.

Stable power in Mada? Have you been there? LOL.

Thats BS. More chances to get robbed in Mada.

    Political crisis in Madagascar.

Those who consider to go to Mada in coming weeks and months have to look at the political situation, as there will be risks of strikes (Airmad?, airports services.).

I was on east coast in past 6 weeks, now coming back to Europe and followed events on TV and newspapers. As well as from messages of embassy preventing to go around center of Tana where most events occur.

    Recent story:

You have to know that presidential election was supposed to take place in November / December 2018.

In line with this prospect, an electoral bill was passed at National Assembly mid-April, of course initiated by the Government and present President: Hery.

    Rajaonarimampianina.

It involved a strong denonciation by 73 opponent Deputies, affiliated to parties of former President Ravalomanana, former Head of Transition Rajoelina, and independent.

What they precisely criticized in the bill remains unclear, but they highly denunciated corruption of Deputies with suitcases of banknotes circulating in the Parliament.

Accordingly they initiated what they called Ť* a report to voters*ť in front of Mairie of Tana on 22/23 April. In fact a demonstration to denounce corruption and unfair bill. This demonstration was forbidden by the Government.

Accordingly, what might have been expected happened. The police tried to disperse demonstrators, stones were launched on the police which shooted (1 demonstrator killed - 2 later in hospital- tens of injured). The Government transmitted condolences to families.

Before this demonstration and riots, before week-end, in a typical Malagasy way. The President had left the country on a commercial Air Mauritius flight without notice (for memory, previous President Ravalomanana had been obliged to escape to South Africa after similar riot in 2009 inducing 31 deaths). Finally he came back the next week. As it was a relatively limited risky situation, after condolences and mourning.

From this moment opponents, asked for resignation of the President. And daily demonstration occurred in Tana (with some similar support demonstration against the President, last week- end in main cities).

Now, in Tana, opponents try to push to strike civil servants (including customs.) closing Ministries with lockers!

In the meantime, Constitutional High Court cancelled most of the disputed bill, but the 73 Deputies request President resignation, to sue corrupted pro Government Deputies. All that blocking the supposed smooth process to presidential election planned for year end.

The UN General Secretary, the African Commission. Sent envoys to help to end the crisis.

But with bad souvenir of previous actions of international community, -which induced 4 years of Transition (2009- 2013) and to a certain extent, is responsible of present Presidency (as obvious leaders Ravalomanana and Rajoelina agreed to be replaced in 2013 by supposed supporters (Hery Rajaonarimampianina was supposed to run for Rajoelina. But run for his personal account as soon as elected in a typical Malagasy way) most leaders refuse today intervention of international community.

Madagascar cannot be understood in African standards: after the recent riots, the Minister of Defence and all representatives of the armed force met to declare that al, parties had to sit around a table to solve the situation and prepare elections. (In other African countries, they would have met to denounce the disorder and seize power themselves, to organise elections. At the advantage of a military leader!

More, the police (supposed under the Government order!) after the deaths declared next day, they will no more intervene in any dispersion of demonstrators, but only protect buildings and avoid shops to be stolen.

    So is present Madagascar.

But on daily life in the provinces, nothing changes. Girls and 90 % Malagasy are are out of political world. Even if denouncing corruption, asking for elections for all is a strong demand of the society.

    Simple rules.

I confess that the charm of Madagascar is its non pro scene.

If you are happy with pro, Pattaya or German FKK are perfect or better.

But if you like unexpected innocence, girls suddenly surprised by their own sex addiction to you, without stress or harassment. Mada is a gem. (Of course, if you also agree to leave your zone of comfort, even if personally, I always stay in local upscale hotels with A / C or bungalow of good standard on the beach).

About language, do not be afraid by French knowledge. Best Girls will not speak French more than you: only Malagasy.

So speak in your native language (especially English, to say, with smile and eyes, you are nice. Come with me? All girls in the street will understand).

In the past, I also thought that bars and night club were mandatory to find girls opened to my bed. With wish of little donation at the end (except with pro or assimilated in Tana, I never speak of money. Just give the equivalent of 9 to 12 E. Depending of place and girl level -straight in handbag in the morning. And when they enjoyed. They even do not look at the amount of donation), but I finally discovered that best girls and experiences, were just by hunting girls in the street.

I am especially fond of girls 18-20.

When one of these girls has just lipstick, you may guess she is willing sex. And especially with foreigner if by chance a vazaha is just passing there.

Either the girl is immediately available, or ask her phone number: just say in English phone number? And give page of small notebook (I always carry with me), if you do not understand numbers in French (often the only French fresh girls know!

If you go to bars or night clubs.

    Simple rules:

Girls who smoke are all pro.

Girls who drink beer alone or with girlfriends are 80 % pro.

Girls who do not smoke, are not too much makeup, drink juice or coke 80 % non pro or at least semi pro.

But best non pro are to be hunted in the streets of small or coast towns.

You have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to get laid in Diego. Very good variety, from tight teens to horny milfs. Make eye contact and smile. Lots of non-pros looking for fun and some cash -- and "love".

Hard-core pros at Vahinee during the day. Limited selection. But the Rue Colbert stroll starts at dark and the ladies parade between Vahinee and Taxi Be starting around 8 pm. Late night fun at Nouvel Hotel, Boite Noir and the bars in-between.

If you really have no game whatsoever, just make a friend and he or she will pimp for you for a small fee.

The girls scene is also a thousand times smaller in Nosy Be than it is in Pattaya.

Actually there are only 2 bars with hookers: LE Taxi bé and next doors LE Billiard.

And during daytime some girls on the beach offering massages with extras.

It was also a shock to me to find out the scene was that small.

Not able to speak French also makes it more complicated as the girls mostly don't speak English.

I like to spend money with girls, if there is fun and something back. But same as in Pattaya, not spending the money for bullshit girls, or pussy lick shows, but occasionally, I spend a lot in bar, if there is something " specials" , specials are sure something more, than the most think / or except for me, for a normal" fuck" I don't like spend the money, even not a single dollar, prefer than looking TV or so.

But back to Mada. I really have a little headache, as I think for 4 weeks only Diego-and Nossi be to long.

What you recommand as good comfort place, with girls even not only late at night, some beach and some good accomodation. What seems the best city?

Tamatave? But same there I read a lot of mix BTW good and bad on reports.

In Tana for fun from 30/6 to 2/7.

Hope this message finds you well. I will be in Tana for the third time (first one was in 2007, second in 2013, and now coming soon at 2018) so I would like to see how the Tana's center is? How is Hotel Sakamanga in these days? I have booked both Citizen Guest House and Hotel Maison des Cotonniers as I am always looking for a fresh boutique hotel. Even though I don't speak French, I find empathy and gesturing a couple of my best qualities to make the ladies feel at ease. But, I just would like to be prepared first and see which bars are the hot spots for this summer. (Please spare me from mentioning Glacier as I've visited it a few times). I am hoping to find a lady who's quite intelligent and is all about lust as my stay is going to be so brief.

Afterwards, I'll be off to Maroantsetra to check out the Masalo National Park for its awesome tropical life for a week before jetting back to the civilization!

Any tips from you would be appreciated!

As usual there is no consensus on what to expect. It is probably somewhere in between. I speak a little French and seem to somehow get by. You probably will to but it may not always be easy or pleasant. Infrastructure is shit. I found TVs in all the hotels I ever stayed at. Finding anything to watch is another matter! Usually nothing on in English except in some of the higher end hotels. You might get a movie channel and CNN. That's it and not likely.

As for Pattaya mongers able to adapt anywhere? Bullshit. Most of them enjoy a standard of living far higher than anything Mada can provide so if you like well organized places and your luxuries Mada is probably not for you. The only place that resembles anything modern is Nosy Be and they don't even have 24/7 electricity.

And don't go throwing Pattaya type money round either. It will only hasten the end of Mada as a destination that Pattaya types usually don't go to.
