The meaning in standard French is "to show oneself publicly (with someone etc.)". Here she could have meant she wanted the man to state clearly what he meant or intended. Provided of course those were her very words (not always certain when listening comprehension in a foreign language is concerned).

Afficher.
She would " afficher vous " for that repeating of " fleure de banane " . Stick me up the wall somewhere but not in her bedroom. The face she made to it said it all. No language barrier there.
Take it easy! As sonn as this pandemic is over I will try that approach again in Mada. I guess next to the literal sense, by different reactions, the meaning it got quite clear.
Thanks to the lady in her 60 .

But there is also a special meaning when you say afficher someone, which can mean saying that the person is a bit dumb and you show that to everybody.
That meaning cannot be found in dictionary.
But in Mada they could also have invented new meanings which I don't know.

I felt easygoing even wich my limited french skills made it even more adventures. Brought my self a little pocket booklet dictionary. Just in case, wich I never needed. My different skills were fast on level to get what I wanted to bring across .

Affifficher does not exist in French. It's as simple as that. What the girl wanted to say and what the punter heard and understood are things that we won't know.

Affifficher , Display / afficher , the verb, bring it to display
Thats what my translator says.
Anyway the god thing with my french in Mada, some of them speak just as poorly. That makes it easy, not terrifying to either side.
Well definitely some Malagasy speak perfect French.
