I never was in Africa before and hadn't planned to go, but somehow I found this thread and from time to time read it for about a year. That was entertaining to read, thanks. And now I am in Mada, you kinda lured me in here with your reports.

But reality so far is not so bright as I hoped.

Well, as the winter was coming to my country I as usual fled away from it. This time to Madagascar. On the Internet it is said that I can get 2 month visa on arrival + 1 month extention with my shitty passport of central Asian country. But mf in Ivato airport had his own opinion on that and only gave me 1 month stamp. So later I got additional 2 month extention in Tamatave immigration office. (followed the instruction from here, by Neddy I think, thanks. I paid 100 k in office and 30 minutes later took it back).

First I went for standart tourist route with baobabs and lemurs. 12 day later was dropped off in Tamatave, at Miray hotel, where I am currently in (100 k / day).

2 weeks of abstinence and as soon it got dark I went out, Monday. Ate dinner at empty la terrasse, then moved to "beach road". Well, you have to bring flashlight with you to see anything. Its dark there, and I just saw uncertain shadows with rare "bonjours". OK, never liked to pick girls from streets anyway. Sat in nearby bar for a drink. Two big beers later I am in a good condition and its only 8 pm. Went to queens, few ugly girls there. At least there was light and I could see them. Manager speaks a little Russian, which surprised me. I have 0 French, BTW. Spent 2 hours there drinking beer and waiting taxi be to open. Taxi be was also empty with 4-5 girl, and after 11 it got busier. I was pretty drunk already, picked a girl and we moved to my room. I'm sorry your trip sucked and that's why I ask the questions that I ask. Most experienced mongers will tell you to kick the girl out in the morning.

That's why I don't want to go somewhere so poor and so dependent on tourist dollars that you have to pay to avoid jail. Uber or some kind of ride app stops the taxi hustle. Most subsaharan african countries are cheap enough on a budget of 1000 usd a month. That's an African middle class income. If you want to overspend voluntarily. That's your problem.

Dude, to know the currency exchange rate anywhere takes less than a minute. To know the oil boom is over in Angola is old news. If a budget of 1000 usd a month is good enough for you that's just a reflection of your class and comfort zone. I see maybe my mistake is I went to an English speaking country. If I went to Mada then I would have no expectations. But remember I'm coming from the states. Read but the problem is I let them make breakfast.

Nothing seems to beat cold hard experience in the west she's either a working girl or a girlfriend. It's not like that in Africa. I might spend a few months in Mada. My main problem will be ATMs. For some reason I could use my ATM card in TZ with no problem but they didn't work as well in "modern" Kenya.

Flew in from crowded Tana to Tulear. Totally different. Now I understand what NMexpert means with the 'Wild West'. It's difficult to describe the atmosphere here but generally laidback and it seems like anything goes. I walked yesterday night the sea side boulevard and the triangle around the Amazone hotel. You see hardly any vahaza walking but I didn't feel unsafe. Many people around and street walkers everywhere in that area. Took one for 20 K ST + taxi money. Tuk tuk are 1000 k day and night. Also visited the famous discoteque Robyv. A lot off ass twerking going on lol.

Wouldn't mind meeting someone with more experience here to get some sound advice. For intance the 'carnets' of the ladies. They aren't worth the paper they are written on.

Hotels: LE recife fully booked, went to LE recife annex 2 km's down the road. It's a dump, rooms 30 000 k non-ventilated, 35000 ventilated. 40000 k air conditioning. Can be booked as ST hotel 20000 for 2 hrs.

Switched today to Saifee Hotel 75000 for the double, flat screen, satellite channels, nice balcony, clean, shower could be a tad better but still acceptable, shampoo in the dispenser and a dressing gown. Very similar quality to the Serena Hotel. They are also very close to each other. The Serena was 10000 k more but had a fridge the Saifee did not but had a balcony.

It's going to be long but let me explain my thinking. Even though I grew up in a diverse neighborhood, went to school with Africans and took college classes in African studies before I discovered this board I never considered going to Africa. I don't know if you know it but when people do trip reports especially savvy seniors such as yourself It looks like any and every girl in Africa is available.

I asked questions then I booked a two week trip to Kenya, I decided to go the Non Pro route, It worked and it didn't. I'd have comms and logistics problems with non Pros they were clingy as fuck too. It was a breath of fresh air for me because I can't fuck the same girl with a condom after awhile. I'd want to fuck but my dick doesn't get hard I can't fuck the same girl without a condom without fantisizing about another girl. It's going to be long but let me explain my thinking. Even though I grew up in a diverse neighborhood, went to school with Africans and took college classes in African studies before I discovered this board I never considered going to Africa. I don't know if you know it but when people do trip reports especially savvy seniors such as yourself It looks like any and every girl in Africa is available.

I asked questions then I booked a two week trip to Kenya, I decided to go the Non Pro route, It worked and it didn't. I'd have comms and logistics problems with non Pros they were clingy as fuck too. It was a breath of fresh air for me because I can't fuck the same girl with a condom after awhile.
