Ok guys. Here it is for you guys who want to brave the murky waters of malagasy buerocracy.
First advice. Don't do it in Tana. Any provincial capital can do it. Like Tamatave.
You need:
2 Passport pictures.
1 copy of your passport with the ID page.
1 copy of your VOA page in your passport.
1 copy of your return ticket within the maximum 90 days allowed.
You take all the above plus your original passport to:
Below that's Maps. Me reference.
Provincial Government office huge building near the banque national.
Government Office.
Ge0:8 bC0 MP-L-1/ aregion_Atsinanana.
http://ge0.me/8bC0Mp-L-1/Rgion_Atsinanana.
On the ground floor turn right 3rd office on the right its the chef de securite de territoire regionale, control de migration, to get your paperwork sorted and fill out another visa application form. He then issues you a payment slip which you pay in at:
Direction General des Impots in Rue de Commerce in the first floor at Caisse B. There a new timbre visa is fixed and stamped in your passport. The fee is 80.000 AR.
Then you return to LE Chef (if he's there) to have the visa signed and counterstamped and voila. You can spend another 30 days in paradise.
Best time should be Tuesday to Thursday from 0900 to 1100 and 1430 to 1700. The challenge is to meet LE chef when he's actually in the office and in good mood.
Bonne chance.
La Buse.

It seems that no monger from this forum has stayed at the Lova Hotel. May be I will stay at either the Sole Hotel or Sakamanga Hotel. Cheers.

I will be visiting Tana soon. I haven't seen any report on Lova Hotel. So, was wondering whether anyone has stayed at this hotel which is near to Select Hotel and could provide any feedback on their guest policy.

If anyone wants to avoid the long tuk-tuk ride to town, stay at the Ocean 501 Hotel: http://www.ocean501.biz. Its in walking distance at the beach. Nice rooms, good food and a reasonable clean beach in front.

Tamatave rocks. My tight tiny spinner from the pirate island just left. Her sexual energy left me not knackered but I get younger and refreshed by the day. Notwithstanding what other posters with 6 posts of no substance whatsoever about Mada to their credit babbling about potholes....
Yes. Its the typical mada town. Open overflowing stinking sewers. Almost no working street lights. Obnoxious touts. Street hawkers. Aggressive beggars. Cheating tuktuk drivers. Crumbling art deco buildings slowly eaten away by the humidity.
Do I love it. You bet. The best and driest and most pleasant months are September to November. Almost no rain except some drizzle now and then. And I prefer not to sweat while shagging.
Now the good parts.
There is loads of excellent eateries for a song. Chinese. Indian. Gasy gargottes. Cebu steak. Fish. Chicken brochettes. You can eat yourself through for weeks on end. A number of boulangeries where you can enjoy your morning coffee. There is a number of gyms with good cardio equipment. There is Olympic size swimming pools. Some brand new luxury apartment buildings are going up. Good 4 G coverage throughout. A wide range of lodgings from run down mosquito infested 30 k all the way up to luxury are available. 60 k a day gives you a decent accommodation.
And. The girls. There is loads of stunners roaming the streets doing their shopping or stroll in pairs in the evening. All over from the East coast. I had a number of real stunners from Ste. Marie. Must be the pirate heritage of the 150 or so original families. And the boites. I love Sarkis and Queens for warm up.
Then its 11 pm off to LE Pandora. Took a tuktuk with my wing man for 5 k. Whizzing past la police checkpoint which were busy checking cars. Who suspects 2 vazaha in a tuktuk. And then LE Pandora. Wow I looove that joint. Beer is 5000 AR. No entrance. The place is huge. There is 2 big halls with a big dance floor and the usual mirror wall where a number of hot gazy chicas gyrate on high heels. The place is bustling with gasy playboys, vazaha expats, high rolling wheeling dealers with fat gold chains and full bottle of Red Label in front of them. First the Dj plays disco mix. At 0100 he turns on the heat gasy disco is on. Its brillant. I hit the dance floor. I always select girls from the dance floor. There is this hot tiny spinner on high heels moving her nice ass in front of the mirror wall. She has thin braids down to the ass. Paradise. She sees me moving up from behind and voila. Target lock on. She snugs herself tight up to me and we hit it off. Getting high on music. Then we move to a quiet corner and make out like 2 teenagers in love. Deep tongue kissing. She's red hot. It's 0200 am. Time to bed her. Took another tuktuk. Don't worry about la police. The checkpoint is gone at that time. Same in Tana. So nothing to worry. I spare you the graphic description of the rest of night. Only as much. Pussy as much as you are able to handle.

Getting a hot shower and then off to breakfast.
Below new gasy hit. Wendy...

Even though prices are slowly edging up I too enjoy the food options in Tamatave, at least until you have tried them all 10 times! I also second the burger recommendation. Cheaper than most in the country, well cooked and huge. Only thing I did not like was the oversize bun. Way too much bread. As for fresh, why would you assume that a country practically covered in Zebu not be able to deliver beef that is not going to make you ill? You give up Zebu you give up a third of your diet. I like seafood as much as the next guy but I'll be damned if I give up beef over the small chance it will make me ill.

Posts: 541Personnally the closure of Taxibe isn't a big loss. No need to wait for the night to find a girl here. Never found Tamatave appealing anyway except for the girls if they stay cheap. Roads are full of potholes. Rain most of the time.
60 k for the night is more than what I would pay in Tana. 40 k without negotiating is regular price. Even 30 k is possible.
As for the burger I would give it a miss. The only fresh thing is the fish here if it comes from far because on the seashore the water is really dirty. At least in Majunga you can swim. Here you have to go at least to Mahambo to get something decent.

First the bad news. Taxi Be Tamatave seems to have been closed down for good by the authorities. Apparently there were m. Ors frequenting that place so they lost their operating license. Now the good news. While Tana is bustling with tourists which reflects in price increases, especially hotels, Tamatave remains unchanged price wise. Climate very pleasant and loads of hot chics roaming everywhere. I love Betsimisaraka chics. Most of them have good tits and fair skinned. Yesterday I had a date with a drop dead gorgeous nonpro. She had slant eyes with an asian touch to drown in and her cleavage oooh boy. But playing coy we just went for a soda then I dropped her at home.
Plan be. I called up a superslim tiny chica nice be Cups. We met at La Terasse. The place is teaming with chicas of all sizes. Some really hot and doable. I had a good night. Shot 2 loads. I donated 60 k in the morning. Friday I am heading to LE Pandora. On weekends there should be a decent mix of pros down to non pros. I ll report.
I like the food options in Tamatave. Price for the best Burger in the southern hemisphere goes to Sarkis BTW. Also Queens rocks. When you go in that place you feel like in a time warp if you're 50+. Cool and the Gang. She's fresh. Do I need to say more. But it's not busy.
Sir Neddy.
Take Cotisse Premium. Worth every penny. Rode in style. Left Tana 0900 am. Arrived exactly 0600 pm. Take 2 nd Row behind driver loads of leg room.

Got a flight with tsaradia for 120 euros took 2 hours. 50 k taxi to tana airport. In Diego 30 k taxi to hotel.
My bag got left behind in Tana and lots of bags did, apparently there is a back log so they take bags off and put on left behind bags from the previous flights so for days people have been having bags left behind, I met people in the hotel who had the same problem a few days prior. It did turn up to my hotel the next day though.
Stayed at la terrasse du voyageur for 54 k room. Not walkable to the action from here. Hotel ambassador I passed seems to be closer to the bars / clubs, I paid tuk tuks 1 k day and night. Taxi 3 k at night.
Wasn't here long. I just saw Facebook contacts paid 30 k short term. But ventured out once on a weekday.
La vahinee. Lots of expats, maybe 15 or so girls, as previously reported there was some poor girls. One doable girl for me. They all move onto taxi be which is 50 m away shortly before 11 pm.
Taxi be. Also loads of expats in here. Maybe 20 or more girls.
