Seems like the bad streak for Diego continues. I have never had too much trouble getting laid there although I am not the pickiest guy on the planet. It's funny that you get girls as facebook friends that will fuck for money but they don't go to the clubs and look for guys. Trying to be "good" girls that don't want everyone in town (it is rather small) to know they are part time hookers? Another reason I think already mentioned is some may go to NB where there are more potential customers and nobody knows them. I think you will do well in NB. Neddy sure seemed to enjoy it.

Stayed 1 week at diego suarez it was enough for me last days I get bored already. The city is more nice here than other cities at mada and seems much safer to walk at nights at main tourist areas. All nightlife is very close to each other in walkable distances.

Eating:

Diego have many restaurants so everybody will find something they like.

I can recommend la cumbusa restaurant its very simillar to la terasse at tamatave. Food with big portions and normal prices also they have english speaking stuff.

Transport:

Yellow tuk tuk prices is everywhere 1 k ariary at town even for longer distances like example from taxi be to taxi brousse station. Taxis is 2 k ariary for short distances at city.

Hotels:

I stayed at 2 diffrent hotels.

LE valiha hotel the owner is french very nice guy and speak good english they have 2 types of rooms one ground floor for 40 k ariary big with air con, fridge hot water, mosquito net, wifi was working at reception, its budget hotel so don't except some luxury but for mongering its fine. They also have nicer rooms on 1 floor for 70 k ariary but owner offer discount if I stay one week will be 60 k ariary. I choose chepaer room on ground floor. Its near to taxi be and la vahinee.

Ambassador hotel is probably best mongering hotel at all diego for 50 k ariary per night. Big thanks for NMexpert who recommended this hotel.

I like this hotel a lot its something very simillar to flamboyants hotel at tamatave just little bit better for smaller price. They have big rooms, with quiet air con, wifi everywhere, hot water, fridge, the even have bath at bathrooms, comfortablee bed and quiet place also reception stuff speak english so was no problem to communicate. This place is near letincelle and black star club or just opposite grand hotel. I highly reccomend this place its perfect for mongering!

Grand hotel swimming pool its a nice place to spend some time with a girl if you want relax or get bored. To use swimming pool cost 15 k ariary for day They give you towel and selling drinks for reasonable prices like for posh hotel small thb beer 5000 ariary.

Nightlife:

Letincelle. Probably the second most bussiest club after taxi be its open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday other days was closed most crowd is mixed some pros and normal girls. Its aint great selection of the girls here.

Black star club- this place most of the times was completely empty 5-6 people inside I just always walk in and walk out.

New bar- other place which getting not so many people I never seen a girl I like here.

Nouvel hotel disco I visited this place just once on weekday and it was completely empty.

La vahinee bar you can find girls here day and evening. Its get busy at evenings after everybody is move to taxi be. I like this place for drinks or listen life music every evening. They have many girls here just a problem most of them are not good looking and expired. In one week time I saw just 2 girls here I liked. Its open everyday.

Taxi be most bussiest place at all diego weekends is fully packed you can find 50-80 girls inside but honestly is poor selection all girls is not good looking In one week time I saw just 2-3 girls I liked here and it was just on weekend. Weekdays I never see a girl I liked here. I fucked just 2 girls from here in all week.

Now the most interesting part where I get all my girls? In one week I fucked 8 diffrent girls all was young 18-21 years old but 6 of them was facebook friends from diego. I come to diego little bit prepared with 25 - 30 girls fb contacts. I never seen this all girls at diego clubs or bars. The prices I pay is 30 k short time most of the times and 50 k all night I never get any complains and girls seems was happy with it. Couple of times I give 40 k for short time but this girls make me cum few times and was super great at bed. Most of mine girls was great just few of them refuse blowjob (because they never done it in their lifes) and was not so good at bed. Also some girls refuse to meet AR hotel room because of ramadan and one its not show up at meeting time. You also have the advantage of avoiding the hassle and hussle of touts and just plain liars trying to get you on the "last" boat of the afternoon if you arrive after 3 PM, which is likely. Complete clusterfuck at the boat launch area late afternoon. Also the wind kicks up in the afternoon and if you are on a smaller boat there is a good chance you will get soaked.

BTW, how is Diego working out for you? I plan to be there in a couple of months.

Spot on. That's what s happened to me. Late afternoon the pirates try to extract extortionate fees and the waves were backbreaking just before sunset. And soaked I was too. I'd rather spend a night in Ambanja.

I was at one tour agency they offer me shared 4 x4 for 80 k to ambanja from diego for Friday but its leaves afternoon so I need sleep one night at ambanja and I don't want to do it, so probably I will take kofifi or kofmad transport. If I leave early morning and will be same day at nosy be its suits me. Do they have direct van diego-ankify or i need change to another van at ambanja?

Kofmad and Kofifi drops you off at the road junction outside Ambanja. From there you have to organize tuktuk or taxi to Ankify. Better take a 4×4.

Ya. There is one company which goes every night from Diego to Ambanja direct. I wouldn't take it. Go to the Gare Routiere in Diego the Day before your intended travel and avoid the ticket touts. Just choose the Company yourself. Make sure they operate the bigger Mercedes Sprinter busses like Kofifi or Kofmad. Avoid UTA. Or as you pointed out shared 44 which needs some pre-planning. Go and see the receptionist of La terasse du voyageur. They have numbers of the consolidators and organize a place in a shared 44 to Ambanja.

Neddy has the right of it. I have only done the Diego Ambanja trip once and that was in a shared 4 x 4. It cost me 40 dollars but was worth every penny compared to what you just went through. I highly recommend you pop into all of the travel places in town and give them a time frame for when you want to leave. Be flexible, there are not that many opportunities. BTW as I recall the TB from Diego to Ambanja runs over night, just to add to the misery. Good luck.

There is shared 44's available. I would consider those. But it requires some preplanning. Never take the smaller Minibusses like Mazda or Toyotas they stop at every hut and are totally overloaded. Always Kofmad or Kofifi Sprinter Busses. I did the trip last year from Diego to Ambanja. I know.

Thanks!! Next time I will know also. I have trip from hell take me 10.5 hour from ambanja to diego. With many stops and change van at ambilobe. It was packed. One time I counted 22 or 24 people inside and they stop everywhere picking up and droping people. Some people was sittijg on each other lap even they don't know each other. I get just seat in the back next the african girl who was carry small baby he was crying all the time, the girl change his pampers next to me and drop old ones on the floor and left. On other seat was sitting women and carry 2 chickens on the floor one of them was coming next to my feet everytime I was kicking him out!! The road is between ambilobe and diego is very bad I come diego with pain in my back. Lesson learned hard way!! Ist my own fault I should wait kofmadi transport at 8 am instead leaving 6 am with unnamed taxi brousse.

I was planning to do diego, nosy be, majahunga and toliara but after super shitty taxi brousse trip last night (I will make report about it later) from ambanja to diego probably I will stick to diego, nosy be and mahajunga I left 32 days in total to do it. My first impression about diego is really good my reports will follows.
