I'd feel a hell of a lot better if I brought my conceal carry handgun with me. However I've contacted the Embassy in Washington DC and have had no luck finding out how foreigners can bring their guns into the country.

Really wanted to visit Madagascar. I see what you're saying about situational awareness. I'm trying to visit Madagascar not only for the women but also as possibly a place to flee if things get dire for me in the USA. Seems like your argument is a gun is more of a liability. Will probably have to learn how to live without it if I make Madagascar my permanent residence.

Are you crazy? This is not the US! What you want to do with it? No use. Firearms are absolutely useless. 90% is about situational awareness. Don't run around senseless drunk at 4 o'clock in the morning in dark street. Take a licensed taxi wherever you go at late night. Never enter a taxi with 2 people. Mate of mine got cleaned out in Tana. If robbed hand over your possessions. Period. Even a US Navy Seal will not resist if its a simple mugging. Whats the big deal. Don't drag around fancy smart phones or flashy jewelry. At night carry only 20 $ and a cheap Nokia. Never resist. Best recipe. A weapon can be turned very quickly against you. Train in Krav Maga. Best investment you can do. And keep on your toes. If you want to arm yourself take a strong tactical flashlight you can blind and hit an assailant in the face and improve on your fitness and running skills. I know of three people got themselves killed in Mombasa by resisting armed muggers. These people never operate alone..

Planning a trip to Mada in January and I did carefully read the Mada forum and I went across an article where someone was informing us about how good are those condom. Well I went on amazon and wanted to order a few boxes but I had read review about it and it seem that you have to buy the large size (Asian standard) and still if you are slightly bigger than average it would be too small and there is no extra large.

Any member have any info regarding this issue.

I am not that big but slightly bigger than average 7,25 inches. Just enough for the head of my dick to knock on the g-point but for those smaller you can always take a shortcut by the backdoor and get the same results.

I agree with Neddy, totally crazy idea. An also if it happens you use it, that's an easy way to end for long time in some nice Malagasy jails. To be experienced, up to you.

I prefer the cotiers, the darker skinned, more African looking ladies from the coastal provinces, which dominate the Diego and Tamatave scenes. I'll usually pass on flat-assed, lighter-skinned Imerina babes who look like they just arrived from Borneo, and which are rare outside of Tana. The selection of women late at night in Diego in clubs like Nouvel Hotel disco, New Bar, Boite Noir, etc. is fantastic on weekend nights after midnight, and some stunners sometimes pop-up midweek. Taxi Be is hit or miss, but some real gems float through there too a little earlier (but after 10 pm). Vahinee has hardcore pros most days, even during the daytime, and a couple are cute and do-able. But the real gold is to be found with ladies working in restaurants, stores, coiffures, and on the street. But this is best accomplished if you have time to cultivate a connection (like a day or 2).

I tried it about a month ago from Canada. Same result, links do not work. It looks like they wanted to get it up for show without caring about whether it functions or not! Typical of Mada. The one for Europe in French works but not exactly convenient for us. FWIW when my flight arrived (late) around midnight there were only about a dozen ahead of me and no other flights so I breezed through the visa process. All a matter of luck.

Neither the French or Italian language E-Visa 'Apply' buttons currently work either! What a shame they can't get their act together and smooth visitors' passage.

Interesting point about arriving at midnight -- that's Air France -- but Air Madagascar is worse: 3 am! Kenyan, Ethiopian, Mauritius & South African flights arrive conveniently in the afternoon, when all the airport facilities are open, and one can be safely at the hotel in daylight.

Worth having it to avoid the visa queue on arrival. Also puts a landing authorisation on your smartphone to show police in-country. Needs a scan of air ticket.

Cotisse premium transport will get you as far as Morondava, Mahajanga, Fianar or Toamasina.

Girls are still a fantastic bargain in Mada: MGA 50,000 is only €12.50 ! Compare that with a typical overnighter in Angeles or Pattaya at around 4 X = €50.

His next visit he had found paradise again in the form of SM. Now he has abandoned everywhere else except Tulear which he will probably ***** about as well. He seems to long for the days when any pretty girl walking by would jump into his arms (if it ever was like that). He doesn't want pros and he doesn't like paying.
