Tried to book Flight with Air Madagaskar to Sambava. - it's not possible to book Tana to Sambava. The Link is grey color and not possible to choose.

Do any one know why? I could only book Bangkok to Tana / St. Marie / Tolagnaro.

Don't ask why. The booking page did improve, but cannot handle a multi-stop flight very well.

Also. You won't get your discount if you book online. You must go to the AirMad office in Tana and book there in person.

Tongasoa was a failure here.

Great infos on Sambava. But why was Tongasoa datesite a failure?

I was always lucky with Badoo and Afrointroductions. Found many lovely ladies there. Tongasoa did change the design lately and seems to be more easy to handle now and has many ladies from the Sambava region. But perhaps the town is small and it may be difficult to say bye bye to invite the next one. Mada girls can be quite clingy.

On the fares: AF shows one-way and you have to add the rtn fare. But it may be almost the same fare from connecting towns in Europe.

Kenia Airlines will fly as from March to Tana. But does not have many origins in Europe: London and Paris? Then the connection ticket costs will kill the deal.

Sambava beach is stunning, numerous girls hang around the beach but as most of the residence here they very poor.

The best mongering hotel is Villa scheridanne. The manager can make food which is out of this world. Any combination goes but the crabs and the fish are super. Big meal IS 12,000 and hotel is 30,000.

Tongasoa was a failure here.

And Pierre calls his staff "my makis". A great place to stay. Only 5 rooms, though.

On AF its 917 EU as promo. Which airline you found that 433 EU deal?

917 EU on AF is similar to AirMad fares. But on AirMad you get heavy discounted domestic flights. If you want to go to Sambava, Diego or Tulear, then AirMad is the better deal.

AF's misleading website (and me having had a couple of drinks)! It was 433 one way I am aware that Air Mad is generally probably a better deal for discounts / priority on internal flights). There are tickets available on Kenya airlines for around E850 but with a dangerously tight connection in Kenya...

Took advantage of an Air France promo & booked a ticket from Brussels to Tana for 597 EUR, arriving on Jan 20.

I had been to Madagascar several times. Last time a year ago. And got opportunities to explore the bigger cities as well the hinterland. Its an amazing place with wonderful gasy filles.

I took note that the MGA is declining against the EU. Although the EU is also dropping against the $. We are talking of a 15% drop of the MGA within past 6 months: 3150 MGA for 1 EU. It would mean that the usual 40.000 MGA's for overnight companionship for girls out of the discos is only 12. -EU.

However, inflation rate is up in Mada. By thus I assume that 50.000 MGA will be very soon more likely the norm as parting fee: still little in comparison to other countries. Taking also in consideration that flights ex Europe are at the moment around 800.900 EU only, its time to plan my next adventure for 2015.

About visiting Sambava / Antalaha.

Sambava is not about girls if you do not have time to get contacts. Although some poor girls are hanging around the beach opposite Orchidea Beach II hotel. (Photo attached). They are not pro or even 0. 1 pro.

Sometimes Expats come here to relax with Beautiful "Take away" girls from Thana. The have cars, money etc. I also was a few foreigners with local wife with 30 years age different. Not sure how they got them.

Overall, Sambava hasn't got affected by progress as Antalaha did and remains classic old fashion Mada resort town. The market has many fruits dirty cheap but mostly on the floor very few stands. Antalaha market is more compact without this large variety of fruits.

Smbava is one of the cheapest places to retired and if you want to walk to the sunset with a girl this is it. If you need action skip it and head to more busy and less attractive town of Antalaha.

I shall come later with stories and pics of my dream time in Vanila coast, but I am presently in Namibia (zero for our hobby) only with my IPAD!

About visiting Sambava / Antalaha must keep in mind the flight situation. For example, right now, it is impossible to get flight from Tana to the vanilla coast -- all full, and not only at holiday time. There are not enough flights and the plane to Antalaha is a small one. If you enter with Air Madagascar with plan to use the discount of 30-50% off domestic flights that can only be booked after arriving in Mada, you risk no availability. Or, you could get stranded in Sambava, with only return option a 12 hour taxi brousse to Antisirana, and thence flight back to Tana.
