2019 I usually paid 40 k but all 3 girls so far have been disappointed by that and wanted 10 k more. I guess their living costs has risen with the inflation, it's not like they are greedy.

In my last recent visit, first since 2019, I was giving 60 k, where I had standardly given 40 k. I think it is reasonable. Times are very hard, and it is not so obvious on Nosy Be. And I also think it worth remembering that 15 years ago that 40 k was as much as $23 when the exchange was as low as 1700 , where now the 60 k is $14 at the current 4200.

Close to Hell ville near Leader price supermarket have MCB bank ATM which accepts Mastercard without any charge and can pull out 800 k in one go. Also at hell ville has BVF bank which accept Mastercard you can take also 800 k from one go but they have charge 8 k. BMi not accept Mastercard anymore I tried at least 6-7 different ATM at different towns and no of them accept Mastercard. Few years ago it was accepting.

I also go to BFV almost exclusively but use a Visa debit. They seem to be among the most reliable in Madagascar IMO. If you have the need for large withdrawals, you can go inside the bank to use your debit card rather than do multiple ATM withdrawals and avoid the ATM fees; depending on the time of day it can be quick since you get on a different queue than most people there. But ATMs are definitely easier if you are not withdrawing millions. With all of these I get a 1% exchange fee, but that might be my own bank (.

I did some hotel price research on the net and they asked me if I am resident or not. Turns out that with the "carte de resident malgache " one pays 20% less. I am not talking of Sole Hotel Tana which is cheap anyway.

They can't do the visa extension in NB right now (or at least they couldn't 30 days ago), the passport will need to go to Diego Suarez.

You can go to the PAF (police of the frontier) at fascene or at the port in Hellville, they sent quite often a policeman with several passports to do the extension (but it's more expensive than the regular price if you do it by yourself in Diego).

Today I visited MCB bank located next to Leader Price. Just as you said, I was able to withdraw 800.000 AR for each transaction.

With my Visa card, I received a rate of 4. 100 AR to 1 Euro. Then I tried my Mastercard, and I received a rate of 4. 200 AR.

Sunday was a disaster. Only attractive girls was some of the waitresses and I am not waiting until 03.00 when they finish. Only pros that like to smoke and drink, no interaction. Last time I went here was in 2019 and I remember Sunday's being bad but not to this level.

On Sundays, most ladies go to Taty Cris for drinking and dancing, then to Djembe discotheque until the next morning. Taxi Be and Billiard Bar don't have so many girls on that night.

There is a picture outside the ATM claiming to accept Mastercard but it is not working, I tried 3 different cards. BMI takes Visa but will only give you 200000 per transaction. BMOI gives you 400000 per transaction, have not tried higher. So be prepared to come here with a Visa otherwise it will be very cumbersome going 30 min in tuktuk on hellish road everytime you need cash. I guess they must have ATMs in Hellville that actually accepts Mastercard but that can be confirmed by someone else.

Arrived Madirokely Saturday and it was good many girls out but I was tired from not sleeping 24 hours so my judgement could be questioned. Took 1 with me and can not complain about the performance but I would estimate we fell asleep at 01.30 and then apparently she set her phone alarm to 07.00 and wanted to have her second round then, fuck no. Sent her away and fell asleep again. Next time I will tell them I sleep until I wake up and there will be no alarm going off, or else they are not coming with me.
