Having read all comments on this site, it was clear there was two opinions: some saying that it is really not a place for mongering, other. As recently Loso 69- enthusiastic on local opportunities.

I confess, I am of the former opinion.

However, I would like first to say that what Loso69 wrote is true. But we have not the same view angle!

1) Windhoek.

I stayed 4 nights upon my arrival in Windhoek.

Stayed at hotel uhland, good location, quiet, very helpful staff, not fantastic rooms (but price / quality ratio acceptable, compared to other places I visited, having in mind that hotels in Windhoek are expansive for their standards). However, I suggest it only for spring or Autumn, as in summer rooms become pizza oven as there is no windows to have air circulating in the room. And you cannot sleep door wind opened. And without heating, I imagine it is freezing in winter.

No problem to bring girl. In fact you have the bip to open the gate, and rooms are scattered in a garden, so you bring your girl directly to your room without passing in front of the reception, even if most probably they see you. In this respect, the receptionist told me I would have to pay double room if the girl was staying overnight. No supplement for st.

Another advantage for those who are really hardcore sw takers: it is close (3 mn by foot) of Luther str / Goethe str. Where Loso69 is right to say you have plenty of flesh available. 3) Back to Windhoek:

I spent my last night in Wndhoek, and decided to go back to Wirtshaus.

It was a Friday night, and accordingly more pro girls available.

Namibia is not a country for single traveler as tourist. You always have to look for other tourists to make a group to join attractive day tours. As I did in Swakopmund.

Interesting sites are usually 400 km from each other. So if you rent a car, you have to like driving on straight tarred or graveled road without any very few relaxing stop over.

Renting a standard car is not advisable, as even to go to the lodges, you will have to drive on graveled road, with risks of damages to the car. And 4 x4 becomes tremendously expansive if you are alone. Road accidents with third party, but more often alone on rocks or sand, mechanical or tires problem in the desert is the butter of tow companies, and since you have given your credit card print, the extra repair costs invoiced at the end whatever minor incident you had, is the butter of rent-a-car companies. Moreover the wealthy white communities has everything in hand to prevent you to find an independent black driver and guide, so you are their hostage, with quite no contact with the black, except under their patronage.
