For some good SA Braai (SA Barbeque). There's this place called "Imbizo Shisanyama" in Midrand. I heard a lot of good things about it.

Per Sandton, I can attest to "The Grillhouse". On the pricey side (relative to SA) but very good service and great steaks.

I'm coming from the United States of America so I'll need to exchange dollars for the local currency. I plan to half about half of what I need in cash and the other half I'll withdraw from FNB Bank ATMS (which I understand to not charge fees).

I'll be there in April so I assume the weather will be warm. I plan to dress in jeans while I'm there to not draw undo attention to myself.

Cape Town

I'll be there from Monday to Wednesday afternoon. I intend to do some sightseeing so most of my mongering will be in the afternoon or early evening.

I'm staying at the Century City Hotel (3 Energy Land). I might rent a cheap car or just use Taxify to get around.

In a bit of a rough area (especially if you're white) but the ladies there are really thick. Big asses and the like.

Don't let someone deter you from going to South Africa. I 've been their four times in the past year and have not witnessed any crime. I know I'm late to the party but I'm on my way to Cape Town for the New Years (first visit to the motherland) and I've been sparcing through this forum over the last week looking for relevant Cape Town info, looks like I picked the wrong city this time. Is there a similar breakdown of Cape Town? If not, no worries. I'll have to play it by ear.
