ditto what bjhunter said. the low end of the market is REALLY scary...for many reasons other than AIDS. pick up any local newspaper and you'll see dozens of ads for all levels of service (R100-R1000). there are also a few incall places downtown
1) i can't remember the name exactly, but it has something to do with ancient greece or rome. it's on a side street between the m62 and bree. i don't remember where exactly, but if you head away from table mountain on loop street (i think it's one way), you will pass an adult bookstore on your right. this place is located 2 or 3 blocks away from the book store, upstairs in a little hole in the wall. you will make a left onto the street and the place is on the right side. this place is cheap, R250 for 1/2 hr as of october 2002.

2) for an upscale place with nice selection, try paradise penthouse. you will find their ad in all the local papers. they're on longmarket upstairs from some restuarant. they run about R400, but it's a much nicer place.

World of advise: Stay away from the lower end of the market. SA is rampant with the AIDS epidemic. for the prices offered in that country, I just cannot see the justification to take that kind of risks. I have heard of young ladies servicing taxi drivers just for fun or just for a free ride. Be Warned!

summit club is your typical cathouse...stripclub and hotel upstairs. depending on when you go, you can find some good-looking asian women and a few good-looking african women (but they seem to get taken up quickly). the majority are pretty rough, though. prices go about R150-R200 per hour. go for one of the dancers. they don't prowl like the others, but are all pretty good looking, and if you treat them nice they'll hook up with you and make it good.

Just got back from Cape Town - here is how I found the scene.

Overall - low quality, rather scary looking ladies.
